Amazing Iceland
Thanks for taking us along on your amazing Iceland trip Alex! It's been really interesting reading about your adventures, and admiring all your fantastic photos. And it sounded like you had a very enjoyable last few days, despite being in a more touristy area. The Golden Circle looked wonderful, despite the other tourists (popular places are popular for a reason!) and the weather looked very nice too (especially compared to the rain and cold of other places in Iceland).

Amazing Iceland
Thanks for reading my blogs Lori, and for following along with me! It was a really wonderful adventure, and I was so glad to find out you don't have to travel too far to still have an amazing trip. That's a really good point, about popular places being popular for a reason! It's nice to combine the sightseeing must-sees with the off-the-beaten track locations. I look forward to reading about your next travels, wherever they might be :D

What a day!
Wow, what a day Alex, exploring lava tunnels, hiking a glacier! Fantastic photos too. How nice to be able to explore the town after the cruise ship passengers all went back to the ship.

Amazing day
Thanks Lori, it was definitely one of my best days on what was an amazing trip overall - the Snaefells peninsula really touched me, I felt a great connection to it.

Lovely Dagur
I'm so glad you went horseback riding! We had fun in Ireland when we went horseback riding in Killarney National Park. And Dagur sounded like a very lovely horse too. What a fantastic adventure every day was on your Iceland trip!

Dagur
Aw, Dagur was lovely, such a gentle soul! I seem to remember your horse-riding when reading your Ireland blogs - I think it's a really natural way to get to know a location.

Beautiful French Coast
Jam packed fun once again.... Nice, Cannes, Antibes.... all the hot spots. I'm glad to hear how polite and friendly everyone was. We have found the French to be kind no matter their reputation. When we travel to these glitzy locations we always wonder how people obtained so much discretionary income and why they would spend it in this manner. To each their own. MJ

Beautiful French Coast
Indeed, so much to see down there, and it was really nice to have encountered such pleasant and friendly people. I had similar thoughts on the wealth on display there - the Abbaye de Lerins felt a lovely antithesis to this.

A small world
It is great that you visited this area after Bob's recommendation. We hope to do so also. I find it interesting that you took a photo of a house that Bob considered buying. What a small world!

CΓ΄te d'Azur delights
Dave here....glad you enjoyed your time in this area of France. Monaco of course is an amazing amount of wealth packed tightly. Also glad you liked Nice. We enjoyed our short stay there as well.

Nice House

This house was for sale...
when I vacationed in Antibes in the early '80's. I was really tempted to purchase it!

Classic and Classy!
Wonderful write up of your time in Monaco, Alex! Your photos are also wonderful! Often travelers do not equate experiencing opulence and luxury with that of genuine travel. Yet I believe that is a myth and Monaco is evidence of how it's possible to enjoy both because that is the true nature of this small country. I, also, regret not being able to visit the Casino. However, it felt quite wonderful to actually walk on a street which is part of the Monte Carlo Gran Prix circuit there; (I was privileged to be able to drive a Maserati this past December!!) and, to see where Princess Grace is entombed -- those were highlights of my day there! Your time in Monaco was so much more encompassing of sights there than mine was though!

Classic and Classy!
Two more great words to describe Monaco, Sylvia, I completely agree! Also, what a very true comment about being able to combine luxury with genuine travel, and Monaco being an example of that - it certainly is the nature of the country. I felt so blessed with my time there, it was very much a highlight for me. Thanks for reading and commenting :D

The luxury of Monaco
Thank you for taking us on a trip to luxurious and glamorous Monaco. I have never been to interested in visiting the city-state, but I think I changed my mind!

Dave here....enjoyed your blog. Amazing that Prince Albert was at the church. Amazing little nation, no?

Thanks Dave 😊 Indeed, a very intriguing little nation.

Monte Carlo Casino

Oh, I'd like to see that...
When we visited Monaco we never entered the Casino, we only saw it from the outside. Seeing your pics I regret that decision. /Ake

Casino
Ah, sorry to hear, the casino was a real highlight for me. Hopefully you still got to see some other amazing places in this lovely little country.
