by the way, the new car is mint
Noisy americans To bamboozle them you should've just said "can you lot stop flirting and go and have some al fresco fun on the deck?" Everyones a winner.
Hi Debbie! Yeah, it was very behind the times but didnt mind at all as the scenery is so stunning and the people are so lovely! Def put it on your list of places to go! Hope you back to Korea ok, was fun snorkelling with you and Ramona!
'Ria aboard the boat' photo That military style hat, that face.... you look like Patty Hearst! (check the photo of her on wikipedia article and you'll see!) LMAO, enjoy!
Sorry, ignore the last comment I just re-read and saw you are going from Chiang Rai, not Chiang Mai. Even easier. The bus station is right in the centre of town. Just jump on the bus or buy your ticket at the counter before you travel. They are the big green buses and stand out from the rest of the ones at the station. They leave every hour starting really early, until 2pm (I think). Unlike other journeys we pretty much had this bus all to ourselves.
Hi, it's really easy to get between the two places providing you can get yourself to the correct bus station in Chiang Rai. There are two both outside of the city. Once there you have a choice of buses, cheap public bus or more expensive "luxury" bus. We did the public bus and it was well worth it. Tickets are easy to come by and priced up at the various ticket counters.
We didn't do the gibbon experience as it is so popular that you can only do it by booking in advance. We have heard that it is fantastic and well worth the money though.
Best of luck, safe journeys :)
Laos Just wondering how you got from Chang Rai to Chiang Khong? Am planning a trip to laos in March and really want to do the gibbon experience. Did you do that?
Regards
Sally
2 out of 10 Just to let you know that there will be a test when we return!! HAHAHA. Only kidding, I'm glad we can provide some amusement. No time to keep it up to date at the mo, travelling a lot and the internet in Laos is expensive, slow and hard to find. Big Big Happy Xmas to you and Amy and all the gang, I'm sure you will all hae great ones and get everything you want this year. You'd best not lose the footy or I will be sorely dissappointed, I'm sending positive thoughts out to all of your feet on the 24th. Great to hear from you Stevie, hope you have a fantastic New Year. All the best now, ad :)
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Adrina! I give myself 2 out of 10 for keeping up to date on your blog. Apologies. I am now a third of the way through it and have very much enjoyed reading it over my lunch break.
I wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. You will both be missed at the Forest this Xmas Eve and wherever we end up on NYE.
Ad we are having the annual footy match against John Collins and team and I have to say that youi will be sorely missed as our solid centre back. I will let you know how we get on.
Hope you are both well and look forward to reading more over my lunch breaks!
Take care,
Stevie G
Finally Caught Up!! Hi you two - finally managed to get to the computer and catch up with all your blogs. The pictures are brill but seem to involve a lot of bottles of beer and food! Sorry its taken us this long to catch up but Dad hasn't been too good for the last couple of months - okay now though. Really glad to see that you are seeing so many places and having such a good time. It was really nice of you Maria to let Adam get his photo taken with all those ugly ladies at the Grand Prix. Really impressed with everything youhave done so far. Love the blogs, love the pics. Not jealous at all not! Will keep in touch with blogs more regularly from now on. Everyone sends their love. Keep having a great time lots of love Dad and Sal xxxx
Blues beating villa 4 - 0.....funniest thing I've heard in ages!!!! Almost as funny as the look on the blues noses faces when Gabby scored the winner!!!! Shame - you can always enjoy next years local derby with West Brom! xxxx
P.S. Adam - incase you didn't know - Liam Ridgwell scored an own goal....classic!
. those photos look mint. that tiger is massive and i like the ones of you sliding down those rocks, that looks fun. I get this blog emailed to me now, its well nifty.
You see any weird lady boys out in bangcock? i bet theyre all over the place. it looks like a strange place.
you've probably heard the news, england are through to the european cup next summer and are bookies favourites. steve bruce has left brum to manage england, and blues won against villa 4 nil. not bad.
xmas plans are starting to shape up. everyone wants to go to the forest but im trtying to dig my heels in and claim wilsons but its looking unlikely. shag bag or ellora on after whatever.
ive got a miserable cold and have exams in a couple of weeks so as you can imagine, im full of the festive cheer at the moment but in a couple of weeks ill be loving it.
Good to hear from you guys, take it easy,
4 wheel drive Hi Paul, yes there were a few places that we couldnt go as the van wasnt insured and i dont think it would have made it! Places such as the gorge just outside kalbarri (natures window i think it was called) for example we would have had to do a tour to be able to go there as it was unsealed roads. Most places on the whole had sealed roads though and we didnt miss out on any major sights. Most of the unsealed roads were north of perth as far as i can remember. It did get a bit cold in the van at night, even in exmouth when it was 30/35 degrees in the day. I wore long trousers, tshirt, and a sleeping bag and blanket (the last two were provided by travelers autobarn). Hope that helps, let me know if you have any more questions! :)
Four wheel drive You did not seem to be using a four wheel drive, did that stop you going any where or cause problems? How hot did it get sleeping in the van at night?
thanks
