Unfortunately (or fortunately as I soon found out) we werent here for the famous full moon parties so we stayed at on of the quieter beaches. Its impossible to get anywhere without a motorbike so we hired one for a few days and Adam dropped me the 15km from the port to our bungalow on the bike then went to pick up both of our bags and managed to get himself and both the bags both back on a tiny 125cc scooter!
For Valentines Day we went to the dump that is home to the Full Moon parties.. Haad Rin. We managed to find a nice restaurant but if it was a bit of a grotty place now I couldnt imagine what it was like at the parties. It usually attracts about 30,000 people, the beach is full of broken glass and collapsed bodies until it gets cleaned up. Apparently 6 people die each party on average!
Spent a few days here and it was very beautiful but we'd had our fill of beaches by now and were keen to get to Malaysia and spend a bit of time trekking in their famous jungles.

6 deaths at the average party
Isn't that about that same as an average IoM TT? Too soon?
