Just Me! - In 12th grade, we studied Hispanic artists from centuries passed up to modern times. Our unit consisted of El Greco, Velazquez, Kahlo, Picasso, and other famous Hispanic artists as well as their famous paintings, including Las Meninas. Hearing about these paintings in school, one doesn’t think that they will get a chance to experience them in person. Now being in Spain, opportunities have opened up. At the cathedral in Toledo, I got to see a painting by El Greco. On Friday, we will be traveling to Museo del Prado, which houses art from famous artists, such as Velazquez, El Greco, and Francisco de Goya (Insight Guides, 126-127).
