Unpretentious treasures in life Dad and I love reading the blog entries both you and Erin write and wait in anticipation for the next. What we'd like to know is when the book version is coming out :)
Thanks for the note, though I should follow up by saying that a few days later I got an incredible head massage that had me feeling pretty great! I guess you have to take the pain with the pleasure!
Cheers!
2 pair of underwear 2 pairs of underwear for a whole 10 months- wow! Glad you got your luggage and if you want I'd be happy to send you some rice since there seems to be a shortage where you are- can't stop laughing!
Who knows? Angie tells me that he does in fact travel to Guangzhou and the next time he plans a trip there he'll be sure to arrange a visit! Who knows, maybe I'll tag along!
Good luck as you embark on this amazing adventure It's great to have the opportunity to follow your adventures! What an awesome opportunity. We wish you well and look forward to keeping in touch as you make your dreams come true! Keep in touch! Angie does travel to China on occasion so who knows - maybe you can meet up one day! Love Aunt Susan & Uncle Angie
How great to hear from you! Thank you for your well wishes, and if Angie finds that he will be in China, let us know! It would be fantastic to connect in such a great place!
Bitter Sweet It was such a bitter sweet time for us when the time finally came to say so long to both of you at the airport. As we wiped away the tears, we talked about what lucky parents we are and how excited we are for the 2 of you to be sharing such an amazing adventure together that has only just begun! Losing your bag only adds to the "real". Lost luggage certainly runs in our family! Happy shopping. Love you both! Mom & Dad
Bon Voyage I am so glad I got to speak to both of you today and hear your voices before you left. Wishing you an amazing trip and a wonderful adventure. Bon Voyage!
Hi! It was wonderful to chat with you as well... we just stayed our first night in Beijing and are about to hop on the next plane to take us to home base in Guangzhou! My luggage for the year was lost, so this weekend I am going shopping! :)
Very lucky! So my first reaction? "Oh my god! Are you nuts? You should have go pen to emerg and an on-call ophthalmologist could have taken it out!!" My second reaction? "Wow, you can learn how to do anything on the internet- good for you!" I'm glad you are ok and that you're eye is on the mend.
There goes another one! After reading this entry, I was overcome by emotion. I was a young child again growing up with amusement parks as my playground, with parents who were always there for me, and whenever possible, loved to live life to the fullest. If Zaidie were here today, I know he would be so proud of the man you are and your choice in the perfect partner to share your dreams with. The both of you have won the best prize of all - each other!
You are absolutely right about that! You raised a wonderful man and I can't thank you both enough:) I consider myself so lucky to be able to share this wonderful life with him!!! xoxox, Erin
We don't have to be conventional anymore, do we ;) Your meeting and wedding is so wonderful and cool to read. Yes, the wedding gives a chance for both families to get to know one another ... and perhaps in another era that was more important...? I hear you on being unconventional ;) So happy you two found each other!!! =) I know Sean from helping him buy property in Hawaii. He is one very cool man - he reminds me so much of my brother and both think outside of the box.
Aloha Sue!
Thanks so much for the thoughts! I am grateful that we had the opportunity to work together on some investments as you have become a good and trusted friend and colleague! I hope we can find some more investments down the road to work on together! In the meantime, let us all break the conventions, have some fun, and explore this crazy life!
Chat soon!

In our efforts to search for a greater quality of life, we decided to track our adventures using the theme "Where Did the 'Real' Go?"
But before we begin, we want to take a moment to give you a quick idea of who we are...
Erin, a free-spirited homeopathic practitioner, spent much of her life growing up in the ranch lands of Alberta, Canada where she earned her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Alberta.
