OMG I didn\'t realise what you both went through and just how sick Suz was. I\'m much happier after talking to you both today and seeing that you are on the mend. The blogs are so interesting and as I told you there are several of my friends who are thoroughly enjoying your trekking. xx
best time of the year looking forward to seeing your updates on Malaysia, we will probably not be there until around July, but we should be able to learn plenty from you guys! :)
I bet you look forward to this time of the year hey.... travelling!
Hope the pets keep well whilst your away!
It sounds like a great start of your trip. I hope the trek to EBC goes smoothly and you have no problems with the altitude. I'm looking forward to reading all about it!
Altitude Certainly was a fantastic way to start. Cyrrently sitting in Lukla waiting for a plane to take us back to Kathmandu. I won't spoil the story as to whether we made it to EBC or were affected by the altitude sickness. I've got about 4 blogs ready to go which I'll start uploading over the course of the next week or so as we get some better wifi down in Kathmandu. Thanks for reading.
I can't help but find Kathmandu to look beautiful to me in a chaotic and dusty sort of way that is. Most people I talk to are just there because they have to in order to trek, but I almost feel like visiting just to visit. It sounds like there is Indian and Chinese food there too which makes sense given the location - I had never heard of momos but the chili pork ones sound amazing
kathmandu - a destination in itself I couldn't agree more. Before we came, a lot of people warned us that Kathmandu wasn't too greta and to get in and out as quickly as possible. But we really loved our couple of days there just wandering the streets in all its beautiful colour and chaos. And really the food has been terrific. We are sitting in Namche Bazar after a 14 day trek and can't wait to get back to Kathmandu and it's surrounding province for another week before heading off to Thailand.
Good luck! I just came in to have a peek at your countdown clock to see how long before you start your trip and I realised you left today! how exciting! I am, I must admit, extremely jealous and couldn't help but having butterflies in my stomach for you, thinking that, as I write this, you are just starting this new adventure. I really hope you enjoy this trip and I'm looking forward to reading all about it.
Close guess We were told she is a kelpie cross staffy. So I'm going to go with that! yes very cute. We are a bit worried we are going to be one of "those" parents who bombards Facebook with baby photos when we have kids as we seem to take so many shots of the dog... :)
Nearly there... I love a good list or three, so I completely understand your multiple lists right now! Wishing you guys much luck with getting everything done. Hope Bailey isn't too upset when you leave.
Making a list and checking it twice... Definitely have to right that to do list blog soon.. Why reinvent the wheel if other people can create lists for you. Has to be a business there somewhere. I think we will miss bailey more than her us!
Your journey is just around the corner We are happy for you and jealous that you are about to take off on an extended trip. We will be following along eager for each new adventure. As for volunteer work you may want to contact one of the travel bloggers who has a foundation in Vietnam. http://www.travelblog.org/Bloggers/Vietna-mum/ I understand it is a very good organization. Also might want to check into http://www.wwoof.net
Good luck and have fun.
Pacing yourself With travel comes wisdom. As you say you cannot see it all. Moving at a slow pace to enjoy the people, the places is definitely the way to go. I like what you said about observation and contemplation. We are eager to read about your upcoming trip and will follow along. We hope to take a short trip in the springtime if we are lucky.
Trip delays Hi, and thanks for reading. We have been delayed by a couple of months, my boss freaked out a little and asked me to stay until march. But it has probably turned out for the best, we have so much on our to do list that we would have struggled to get it all done before the busy Xmas period. So new leaving date is 2nd march, flights are booked to Kathmandu. I'll be endeavouring to blog weekly during the 12 month trip.
Can't wait to challenge my Virgo intuition of planning everything out and wanting to "make the most of the time" by trying to jam pack as much in as possible! Not how we want to roll this time around.
Foodie heaven It's an unreal destination for foodies for sure. Looking forward to returning when we have a lot more cash to burn in years to come. But for now we are saving our butts off for a year of travel in 2014, countdown is on cant wait to be back out there again.
Many more travels to come! Hey Charlotte!! Yes this trip is coming along nicely, we are in Croatia at the moment and about to go to Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Salzburg and then onto Munich. We actually get to Oktoberfest around the 22nd, so i think we might just miss you! :( In Bruge we free camped outside the campsite (called camping memling) on the street (he he!) and used their facilties, but then we moved inside the campsite to use their electricity etc. The campsite is only like 3km southwest of the city centre. Bruge is great I would definately recommend it! And if you don't have bikes - hire them, it is the only way to get around Bruge but so fun. We didn't do Brussels as we had heard from a lot of people that its not really worth it - so not sure on advice on that one! Aside from that we are only just going to the same places you are now, so not advice on those either - but maybe we'll see you along the way like we randomly did in San Seb hehe funny. Take care, enjoy xo

Had been 4.5 years since landing back on aussie soil after our 6 months of travel around europe in a kombi. Inspired by others blogs and with the travel bug biting us hard once again we decided it was about time to start planning another vagabonding experience.
The last 4.5 years had been jam packed with buying a house and solidifying our positions on the corporate ladder. But with the biological clock ticking and with us both just turning the big three-0, the road is calling once again!
We have just set out for 12 months on the road from March 2nd 2014. The las... full info
