Good for you! I am happy that you have to ability to overcome your fears and do what you want to do. I would never do that as I would never want to do it, but I am happy for you and your courage. I just realized that it is Christmas day there, so Merry Christmas! I wish you were here. xoxoxox Love you loads and loads.
From back in Canada, eh! Wow, that is so freakin awesome! Totally beats sitting in my living room studying, watching the leaves change on the hills out my window... Maybe I'll have to win the lottery and come see you in the summer, wherever you are.
Yay! Yaaaaayyy!!! And an extra year for me to pretend I might actually make it down there for a visit! (Hey, I may be a broke student, but I can dream)
my hero Wow, you are my hero. You've certainly adjusted to the travelling lifestyle!! At least this way I might actually get a chance to visit you on one of your rambles, though!!
So - enjoy Oz, it's freakin amazing!! Tasmania's gorgeous, the Whitsundays are spectacular, the Great Barrier Reef is totally sweet, the country around Darwin is breathtaking, and the Blue Mountains at sunset are sooo pretty. Hint - you might not want to do Ayer's rock in the summertime, not just because of the heat, but the flies are awful. Oh, and there's not too much special about an opal mine. I'm sooo jealous! Oh, if you go to Tassie - hike up Cradle Mountain, and do the walk up to Wineglass Bay. The fairy penguins might be worthwhile to check out too.
k, as far as Asia goes, I would soooo love to do that! Maybe I'll drop by and see you. Probably not cuz the school thing and the trips to Ireland have been doing a great job of breaking my bank account, but I can always dream!
Africa - my sister volunteered in an orphanage in Malawi for a month this summer. She flew into South Africa and got another flight out from there. She might know some info. on travelling that continent; let me know if you want me to ask her for you.
Europe - is expensive, at least in a lot of places. But I'm sure it would be beautiful, I haven't seen much (because of the expensive thing). But I could definately tell you some awesome spots to check out in Ireland, some a bit off the beaten path. There's something very special about Ireland, some undefinable quality... it's amazing.
South America - don't go alone!!! I've heard some bad stories about girls travelling alone, it's dangerous there. But if you're going, let me know, I'll come!!
I also know a girl who did the cruise ship thing for a year - she loved it!
Girl, I wish I was you. And I wish you had longer in New Zealand - I really wanted to go visit you and see some more of it. But, c'est la vie I guess. Sin e an chaoi. (that's just the way it is) Keep me updated!!
it's all good... Just to make you feel better, when I spent my super-packed couple of weeks in NZ it was summer and I remember wishing I'd gone in spring or fall so that the grass was greener and prettier, or even winter so that the mountains were snowier. And yet I saw a lot of really great things and experienced plusses to being there when I was, too. The point is, I think everyone wishes that some part of their trip was different because whether we have 2 weeks or a full year, it's never enough to see and do exactly what we'd like. That's the downside of travelling I guess... haha, leave it to a Canadian to be able to complain about everything!! Enjoy turning kiwi... just don't turn too far and forget to come back North! Later.
Turning Kiwi It is so awsome to turn kiwi, rather that than american. I picked all the slang too when I was there and it took me years to lose it. Even now I will I will say 'Yur all right mate' and get a funny look. I love having that unique slang it makes everything more interesting.
wheee yaaaaay!! I'm happy for you, girl! Good luck with the new work / location. I'm actually about to start a trip myself; just as you settle down, I set out! I'm just going across Canada, though. No crazy exotic location like NZ :( . But oh well, driving from Sask. to Nova Scotia will be a blast too. Hope you're still having the time of your life! Later!
Hi Veronica Hey Veronica,
Sounds like you are have some great adventures. Each one adds a layer of character to you.... I hope you enjoy Queenstown and find a really great job there. When you have time... post pictures... I love seeing New Zealand.... through your eyes. I was thinking about you lately... because this is around the time that you came to visit last year and it is almost time to plant the potatoes.
Sweeeeet! Awesome! Isn't skydiving the best? I'm sooooo jealous. I wanna be down there right now, not writing this stupid essay waiting for spring to hurry up and arrive so I can ditch the stupid winter jacket... So jealous.
There you are! I was wondering what crazy stuff you were up to. How was work in Auckland? Can't wait to hear where you get to... wish I was there! Travelling is so much cooler than school. And don't worry, winter will still come to Canada when you get back. It's really nothing special. Enjoy the sun!
I love your pictures Veronica you are becoming quite the photographer. Some of your pictures are amazingly good, since you are using your new camera. Keep up the good work and keep them coming, I love seeing them.
Merry Christmas Dear Auntie Veronica, I miss you. When you get back, I need your help on Rayman. Merry Christmas! I'll see you when you get back. I love you.
I was born and raised in the small town of Kitimat, B.C. When I was 20 I finally left and haven't managed to settle for very long since then. I lived in Canmore for 3.5 months, Banff for 6 months, Burnaby for 1 month, then I returned to Kitimat for about 2 months during the summer. I then decided to try the Vancouver area again and wound up living in Port Coquitlam and going to school in Burnaby/Coquitlam for 10 months. After that I again returned to Kitimat for a short bit during the summer. I then moved to Victoria for about 8 months before I took off for Shediac Cape, NB for 2 months. After... full info
