Our First Few weeks in China

a trip by Keren Crum and Steve Jensen
From: February 10th 2009
Until: February 20th 2009

We started by flying out of Los Angeles to Beijing about 18 hours of traveling. We had a lay over in Shanghai where they processed our visas. We arrived late at night in Beijing. We spent two days in Beijing and during which we visited the MuTian section of the Great Wall. Then we hopped on a train south to Guilin. We booked hard sleepers for the 27 hour train ride. We were picked up from Guilin and driven an hour south to Yangshuo, a very popular tourist town. They have very strange mountain and rock formations there. We spent 5 days in in Yangshuo taking classes on teaching English in China through our agency. Friday the 20th our school administrator picked us up and drove us to Jianghua about 3 hours away from Yangshuo. That Monday we started teaching!
