abhaya mudra Howdy,
The photo of Steve titled "steve mural emei shan" is possibly of the Dhyana Buddha Amogashiddhi. The right hand raised gesture is the abhaya mudra, the geture of protection/fearlessness. Lots of love from the Crum.

Great Pics! Some amazing pictures, Pookie!
And I love that you and Steve are saving our international relations through alcohol consumption! Someone should tell Hillary :D
Haha~ It sounds that you like that place and people there. I am in Changsha, the capital of Hunan, but I have no idea where JiangHua is,haha...
The situation you presented is extremely true in China, so teaching here is not very easy, but I think you will find some lovely students there.
If you want to visit Changsha, you can let me know, and I'd very appreciate to guide you around here.My skype ID: clever_things
Your photos are stunning and your stories totally transport me. What a fabulous thing, this chronicle of yours.
And I don't know how overseas food transport works, but if you ever want something impossible to find, I hereby offer to send it to you. Love you guys!
Beautiful Photos~! Sounds like you are having a wonderful adventure. still looking into possible travel options. Funny how a little pizza and peanut butter can go a long way to soothing the savage soul.
sweet stories! Hey guys! Glad to hear everything is going so well in China. I must admit, though, that you make the quest for cheese and pizza sound incredibly interesting.
So beautiful! All the pictures are so beautiful! I'm very glad you guys got some cheese and butter, I was starting to get worried! Hope Keren found some shoes!
love and miss you both!

So lovely! It looks really beautiful there. So sorry to hear you and Steve have been sick so much, hopefully your bodies will adjust quickly. It looks like you both got haircuts in the picture, it looks great!
Miss and love you both!

Great photos Sounds like it's been quite the journey thus far. What an amazing number of students you are dealing with! Hope you don't have to grade papers for all of them ;)
Let me know when your Skype is working so we can have a proper chat.
LOVE!!

It's real! You're there! I know your time will be the greatest experience! What an incredible step along the path of life. Always make time to journal it - on paper or here - so that you will have it in the future. Don't tell yourself you'll get to it - we never do get to it. So take pictures, write it down. This is awesome awesome awesome. I'm terribly envious and so thrilled for you! :-)
Wows! I must have had my dates wrong, because I thought you weren't leaving until tomorrow! I wish I could speak to you to give you my good wishes, but in lieu of that, I just wanted to say how much I love you guys and I'm so excited for your adventure. I hope the hat got to you in time too. Much love, and I'm excited to live China through you guys.
Bon Voyage! Of course, by the time you read this comment - you will be in China. I hope you had smooth travels and are safely installed in your new home.
Many blessings!
Hannah
Best wishes Keren, how incredibly exciting! I will be following your blog with anticipation. What an adventure. This blog is a great idea, and it was wonderful to see your wedding pictures. Best wishes to you both on this wonderous endeavor, and do let me know if you need any China advice -- not from me unfortunately -- but my cousin just got back from two years over there, her third long trip there (also teaching English, amongst other things), and is now doing a masters in East Asian studies (she's fluent in Mandarin). Best wishes, again!
Keren (the turtle) and Steve (the bear) just got married and are getting ready to set off for a great journey to the other side of the world. Our first stop will be in China where we will be teaching English for a year. We wanted to make this site for our friends and family so we can share our experiences and pictures from exotic places. Enjoy!!... full info

Food
I'll pass on the food even though I consider myself somewhat adventuresome.
