Chat Hi Sue and Tim
As expected, you seem to be having a magic time....I am absolutely green with envy...
Not much news. I was lucky enough to crack a ticket to the semi-final of the soccer world cup. We were entertained by the PSL and I swear they gave me double gins...had a shocking headache the next day...not a good way to start playing bridge with a new partner at Natal Ladies Bridge club which is one of the top bridge clubs in Durban!!!
Talking about cards, please, please don't waste your time on Spite and Malice, Sue! Why don't you and Megan download lessons on playing bridge and teach yourselves...I promise you won't look back!!!!!
We have had a really cold snap...had to get my boots out but having mostly beautiful days...still no rain. The farmers are really crying.
Lots of love
Bev
AMAZING ZAMBEZI!!! Hi Tim and Sue Your Travelblog is a bestseller!!! Craig and I have been to the Zambezi on the Zambian side at Craig's cousin's place and it is the most unbelievable experience!! Have caught chesa and vunda but NEVER a tiger!! Obviously it was the wrong season!!!! The sunsets are unparalleled!! We got back from a stunning trip to France and Italy on Mon (celebrating Craig's sister's 50th ) and back to disgusting freezing cold rainy Cape weather!!! Please say "HI " to Megan Birkett from us from Clifton days! Lots of love to you both. Am a bit concerned about the card games!!! Is there money involved!!?? lots of love Craig and Louise Massey

See you soon Tim and Sue,
Enjoying your blog which brings back memories of our time in Zambia.
Sheila and I will be in Umhlanga in October and hope to catch up with you then.
Envious Hi Tim
Looking forward to the next episode. In August last year Colleen and I took the plunge and spent 9 days in Moremi, camping can you believe it,followed by a few nights of luxury at Kasane.
It was a fantasic experience and we are planning another trip in 2011.
Hopefully you are going into the Swamps, although from what I hear there is a lot of water, even more than we had, which was the wettest it had been since the early 1980's.
Have fun!
Dave

AAAAAAAAAAAAh Just read your first love letter Tim. A love letter of Africa - aaaaaaaaaah Africa. I am sitting in what most people in Africa would give their bottom teeth to be in NEW YORK - why is it then that I am crying as I read your blog. It's because I AM AN AFRICAN and long for ALL that Africa offers. Wish I could be with you guys as you experience the beauty of Botswana but I am experiencing the miracle of a new life - our baby Jesse. Miss you Susie and hope you are doing well in that tent with a p............... pot.

Adelaide Have spent some time in Adelaide over the past two years both working and on Holiday. Strikes me as an overgrown Pietermaritzburg with all the speed and pace of city like PMB. Rush hour consists of a line of cars 6 deep and having to wait for at least two green lights to cross the intersection. I am not sure how the locals would handle Sydney or Johannesburg traffic. Quaint things such as a 10 year waiting list for membership at the Royal Adelaide golf club bring memories of a past era at the Durban Country Club. The fact that they are 1000 km from the nearest influence on their culture leads them to live in splendid isolation ,just reading the dail penny horible tells you that what goes on "out there" is only of minor importance. However if you can adjust to the life I am sure that the stress levels drop to near perfect. it was refreshing for me to see that people are prepared to dedicate their whole life to a cause be it work or play. I came accross scores of poeple who had worked for a firm or department all their life with no intention of finding greener pastures. Indeed a wiff of things from the past. On the whole though a very agreeable part of the world to set down roots and indulge in life in the left hand lane.
HI FROM SA Hi Mark

Farewell Hi Tim and Sue,
Thank you for you informative blogs on your Aussie travels - in a space of 3 months you've seen more of Oz than I've seen in 12 years.
I was a delight to catch up with you in Sydney: have a safe flight home and I'll see you on the 1st at Mt Edgecombe sometime soon.
Regards
Mark

Stiil here Great to know you are still in the country, had not heard for a while. You are doing all the things we hope to do one day. Greg and I spent a bit of time in Nimbin, very strange place, certainly hippie haven, also at Byron bay - wonderful lookout from the lighthouse - did you get in any swims? Beaches are great.

Hi from Oz Hi Ann...thanks for your mail.I will go with the flow on plans for Jane's 50th.Let me know what I need to chip in and will do so when we get back(on 2nd August).Love,Sue
Janes 50th Hi there Sue and Tim,
We returned a couple of hours ago, from a wonderful week at Leopard Creek @ the Smithymans place!!! Wow, every time we go there it seems even better than the previous, its a real piece of paradise... with special friends being Sharon and Rob, Di and Doug Jackson, Col and Charles Bennett and John and I. It was bliss... perfect weather, saw the big 5 and loads of little "beings".
Anyway - thanks for all your blogs.
About Janes 50th. Her invitation specifically states please not to bring a gift. I missed todays meeting and have not discussed with any of the ladies, but I think we should respect her wish. An idea I have, is to perhaps give her a card with a note of which charity a donation has been made in place of a gift. What do you think? I will chat to the ladies about it and see how they feel. Meanwhile - you carry on enjoying the last chapter of your travels.
At noosa you may see Garth and Trish Berg ? - if you do, please give them our best love etc etc - they were at Perth many years, and around a year or 2 ago moved to retire at Noosa. I believe its beautiful there, so enjoy !!!
lots of love from sunny bright Umhlanga Rocks.
