Bag woes Hey guys, I know what it's like to be bagless, but I can only imagine how hard this must be for both of you. I really hope it turns up soon, and that you will still be able to enjoy your time in Paris. There's a great view of the city (+ Eiffel Tower) from the top of the Arc de Triomphe, and a fantastic walking avenue (no cars allowed) called Rue de Cler a few blocks from the Tower. As if you needed tourist ideas... =)
sorry to have missed you! Hey guys, I hope you have a great time in Paris, and am sorry that we didn't get to link up. I got back from France yesterday, after a long journey. We were in Paris two weeks ago, and then in the southwest of France, and I came back to Paris to fly home on Tuesday, and flew out on Wed. Have a great time with your folks. love, beth
Chinese people staring Mike, were the Chinese people staring at you b/c you were wearing your blue oompa-loompa outfit to dinner? How many times do I have to tell you to keep your fantasies at home?
Oh to be a Hong Kong ex-pat's wife! Of course, I HAVE to comment on the Hong Kong posts! Reading about your adventures makes me miss it SO much. As a student at Hong Kong University, I lived on the back side of the island and could hike up to the Peak from my dorm room or look down out my window and see the ships sailing out. Sounds like you guys definitely hit the highlights. Oh, and the concrete apartment complexes are sometimes dingier (is that a word?) inside and sometimes are filled with ingenious contraptions and beautiful glazed tiles that make living in a tiny box bearable. It's probably good that you didn't stay too much longer or your trip would be much shorter. After traveling in China or Southeast Asia, the prices in Hong Kong are a shock. I heard that once someone asked a wise man what he wanted to come back to earth as after he died. The wise man said, "That is easy. I would come back as a Hong Kong ex-pat's wife."
Humid Hong Kong Hi Kelley and Mike - I enjoyed reading about your experience in Hong Kong. We also went to the Stanley Market and, I agree, it's a bit cheesy. If you get a chance, the "junk boat" ride is fun. There is a dock near Jumbo, the world's largest floating restaurant. Sounds like you guys are continuing to have a great time. The stay in Australia sounded awesome. How long are you in Asia? I hope all continues to go well. We're occupied here with all things kiddo. Sophie is growing like a champ and Claire continues to be a funny little rambunctious toddler.
Where to begin I am not sure where to go with turner in the blue suit but I do know that if you need short term employment after your return to the US, I think the blue man group in chicago has an opening for a new act and you might fit the bill.
Anyway, I am glad to hear that you both are doing well and having a good time. BTW, is there any explination behind the lack of hair for schiller?
Well enjoy your continued travels and Alexa and I look forward to catching up with you guys later this summer.
The post I was waiting for After the promises of a chuckle at your expense I had been waiting for the pics of the sting suits - very becoming for both of you. I think it would be a good look to debut on the Richmond social scene at your return. As you had promised, I also really like the "If confronted by a cassowary" sign. I am taking a screen shot and sending it around so that everyone can be a bit more prepared to face the day.
Kel and Mike, In the picture captioned "Kel by Ayer's Rock", Ayer's Rock looks like a giant hamburger. (eat your heart out big macs and whoppers)
All the places you've been in Australia and New Zealand have been so beautiful, it's hard to know which blog to comment on. Mike's pictures have been terrific.
sporting man? Mike, I think Kelley was probably just lulling you into thinking that she wasn't good at sports and has now made a conscious decision to use it as another area to remind you who is boss (hint - not you) as opposed to the implication that proximity to you has in some way improved her skills.
Looking forward to seeing you both in HK this weekend!
Soooo going there someday!! I never knew that place existed. Putting that location on my to do list for this lifetime. Ping pong, chess, croquet...sounds like you will have mastered those on every continent by Nov. Take care, Anne Case
Golf props Congrats to Kel on her victory in mini golf. But it does seem like there should be some sort of prize involved. Or a trophy. Or a t-shirt commemorating the event.
Nice.... huh, I think you have been with the sheep too long! We found out the gender- Walger's are adding a girl to the household! Take care and I'm loving living vicariously through your travels!
Respons to your Ode Ewe guys; that was Baaaahd. Ewe sure busted your chops on that - never herd anything like it. It was shear genius. Wool have to see your next ode-ious effort. I feel sheepish even writing this...
Great job - enjoyed that thoroughly. Love, your cousin Dawn.
Love this Blog I just love this blog. It is such fun to have a "half way" review from your prospective. We love you and miss you too. We are also so very proud that your are Ours. Love Bonnie (Mom to Mike)
Penguins - the new black Aren't penguins great? I have a hard time explaining my obsession for watching these animals, but they're amusing. It's like watching a fat man without knees try to walk!
For all of you who don't know us, we are a relatively normal married couple from Richmond, VA. We have been married for 5 years and have been friends since we met at Capital One on our first day of work. We have decided to make a "nontraditional move" with our lives. On November 7th, 2006 Kel and I left everything behind and started traveling beginning with Lisbon, Portugal. The plan was to start in Europe, hit Asia, Australia and New Zealand and then return to Europe to finish our year. Before it was all said and done we added destinations in the Middle East and Africa. The trip was am... full info
