Kells? Do tell.
You guys have seen so many amazing things on this trip, but the Book of Kells has to be near the top of the list! I would love to hear a detailed description of it.

Former Pilgrims
You forget your niece Pam, and your niece-in-law Pam, who were also former pilgrims to Galway. :o) I see that you have a photo of the pub we spent some time at while we there!! That was our last stopping point before we headed back to Ennis and home to the US the next day. I think it is so cool that you found a D''Arcy round-a-bout, and went round-a-bout it 3 times! We just had a round-a-bout built in our little town of Abita Springs and it reminds me of Ireland every time I go round-a-bout it. I sure wish I could be with you while driving along those Irish county roads!! Did you feel like you were home when you arrived in Ireland?? I loved Aunt Gloryo's comment about Aunt Jackie at the Cliffs of Mohr!!! LOL! I think it is so cool that you can just drive around and change your plans and stop where you want and spend the night. What an adventure!! I'm glad we can share in your adventure with you!!! HAVE FUN!!

Jackie being blown away
Tommy Dorsey, I can't believe that you said that it was breathtaking to see Jackie almost blown away at the Cliff's of Morh. Just kidding. It looks like ya'll are having a good time. I wish I could be there with you but these blogs you are writing are almost as good as being there. Keep up the good work. Please hold on to Jackie, we all love her and want to see her again in the good ole USA. Love ya, Glo

I was wondering if yall had planned to visit the Giant's Causeway. I would love to see that, but unfortunately we didn't get up that far when we visited Ireland last year. It looks like such a amazing site! I'm glad you were able to visit and take photos!! Hey, do you think one of our ancestors owns that D'Arcy Restaurant?? I'm sorry about the car troubles but it sounds like you are not going to let it spoil your trip!! Have fun in Ireland!!

Did Mom tell you that she and I visited York a few years ago! I really loved it and enjoyed high tea at one of the tea rooms. We attended the evensong service at York Minster. It was one of the highlights of our quick trip to England. BTW, I am a little behind reading your blogs but I am really enjoying them!! You two are really on the trip of a life time!!

Oh Darn
Hmmm not good news but as always you land right side up and ready to try again (with a little help from the whiskey). Can't blame Jackie as she was probably tired and all had been so perfect. Well pick her up again and start the clock again because the best is yet to come. Tell her that Leslie says - that's the spirit - my Jackie girl!.

The Scots
I knew that you and Jackie would love Scotland! Can't you just see Ricky standing on a corner in his kilts, playing his pipes? Don't buy your scotch there, wait til you get on the plane coming home - cheaper! But, as a scotch lover as I am, go by one of the Scotch houses and have a sip.... it's fun! Hope that John and I see you in Dublin next week!

Guy Fawkes and all
Wow, what cool places! I would love to have had a pint in the Guy Fawkes Tavern. I'd love to see Hadrian's Wall too. Fantastic!
11th June 2008

Car and stuff
The car you described as an Austin Healey is in fact a 1951 MG TD sports bought in Baton Rouge in 1987! Brantley will get a laugh anyway! We guessed that you would zoom up to York to save time. Hope the weather stays OK. Pete

Please be careful!
Please be careful driving a left-side steering car in England. It's tricky enough to drive on the other side of the road in a right-hand steering car, but it will be even trickier doing it in your car. I've driven thousands of miles around Great Britain, but always in a right-side car. Keep the photos coming. Cheers, Rick

Leaning Tower!
Loved the pix of you holding up the tower, Tommy... Patty and I have one as well. The stairs were worn in 1974, I recall and the stink was bad too, but, heck we made it to the top! The trip you guys made to the alps in Italy sound incredible and pix were great too. Don't drink all that vino, bring some back. Let us know when you reach your friends home in UK. Give us the schedule so we can pick a date to try to meet for a few days. Jackie, you are looking GOOD!!! luv, dianne
