We have been so happy with each stop. Each is so different. My photos are amateurish. Cellphone only. You need to go, carry your cameras, and bring home some frame worthy pictures.

In my hood
Part of my growin up years in Grand Rapids. Floods of memories. Beach at Grand Haven, Muskegon (a piece of folklore, history) an Indian announcing The Musket is gone. Sleeping bear dunes. Ok probably would not attempt that again.

Hope you have time to check out this old western town outside the city which is so super! While on the State Purchasing Trip, we did this and it was amazing! (that's been a long time ago so hope it's still around!)

The Louisville Slugger Plant
If you have time and still in the area, go through the plant there as very interesting how they make bats! You get a small miniature bat at the end of the tour!

Arc de Triomphe
About 15 years ago Debbie and I had a trip to Paris planned. Right before the trip I got bitten by a spider and had to spend 4 days in the hospital. They sent me home with an antibiotic pump for another week. We packed our bags and the nurse came to the house and removed the pump and we got in the car and headed to the airport. We were not going to miss our trip. When we got to our hotel in Paris it was getting dusk and there was a light rain coming down. We borrowed an umbrella from the hotel and took about a half mile walk down to the Arc de Triomphe. It was deserted with a single guard standing watch. We asked him if we could walk up to the top and he let us. We stood there on the top of the Arc all by ourselves in the sprinkling rain looking out over Paris as the lights came on. It was one of the most beautiful experiences we have ever had. Jack

Paris
Jack, sounds like your determination paid off. The spider bite sounded bad. But I'm glad that it healed and you were able to make the trip. Now I wish we had waited to go up on the Arc. Maybe next time.
