Surprise endings Some locations you don't get to see what you think you will see but then surprises pop up for your enjoyment.....Pisco Elqui and music in the square. Travel is about experiencing the moment.
Experience the moment! Hi there, your statement is completely right. Pisco Elqui could've been a disaster however being in the square, listening to local music (with disguised wine) made a fine finish to our visit there. Thanks for your comment.
Animals! Hi there, completely agree with you about the animals, so much better cared for in South America than elsewhere. We've had so many dogs come up to us just to sit for a while it is unreal. This one just sat next to me and put it's head in my lap. Stayed with us until we left the park about 2 hours later.
Thanks! Hi Tarik, thanks for the comment. We normally try to learn some language when away but as we're only in Brazil for a few weeks and had been learning Spanish, we didn't want to lose our Spanish skills, despite those being weak as well. We've managed though. Obrigado.
Who's pinched my corn on the cob? Hi there, Thanks for the comment. Didn't even realise I'd captured this until after reviewing the photos back at the hotel. Made us laugh!
Hi Alexis, it was a strange place with vehicles crossing the bridge quite loudly every few minutes but was strangely relaxing. It was cold and drizzly so the walk from the indoor pool over the river along the rope bridge to the pools was a bit hair raising but once in the pools, it wss lovely. Great to have them to ourselves as well.
I agree, Chivay was a really great little place and underrated! I was there for a couple of days so I got to hike in the surrounding areas and stay in a homestay. I tried to run up a few flights of stairs in the hotel and it freaked me out when I was completely out of breath, such a strange feeling.
Hi Andrea, thanks for the comment. Chivay was a lively little place, as was Yanque and Cabanaconde. Still a shock when you get out of breath doing the simplest things at altitude. Takes some getting used to taking things slower.
I'll have you know Mr B that I shaved specially for that day. My Mum would've killed me if I turned up at Machu Picchu scruffy lookin'. Having a great time, Peru is amazing!
