Love your blog...especially the history lesson.... It puts what you are showing us in truer perspective. The tunnels were amazing. Obviously the Viet Cong were on top of things... O no...they were under things....amazing!

Please be careful when stepping off the curb in Saigon!

Sometimes it's the little discoveries, like how the Vietnamese call it the "American War" that make travel so meaningful.

Carl and others have told me how docile the Water buffalos are. Little boys apparently herd them with sticks and ferocious orders . Not like the similar looking Cape Buffalos we saw in Africa if this is true.

When you are in Halong Bay, be sure to climb the steps. It is a difficult climb, but well worth it for the view. We did not go into the cave, but others did so and said it was great. I hope that you have better weather as when we were there
, it was cloudy. At Angor Wat, you may want to purchase a cheap hand fan, as it can be very hot.

Really enjoy your travel log. Thanks

My husband and I are signed up for an end of October 2013 trip, so I am trying to learn what I can about what to expect. I read Day 1 and did not realize that this was actually a pre-Tauck day, so I am relieved.
