so for once I paid less as a white man! that's most definitely the first and only case in my entire year... the standard is for white people to pay a premium - quite often a very hefty one!

Hi Jonathan, I hope you have packed in some lbs. BTW as a white person, you get to enjoy what we call Mat Salleh rate. Mat Salleh is a white man. I have never ever gotten that sort of rate at all even from reserving from the US nor at home from Johor Baru.

Perhentians
You are correct in deeming that the info you got was wrong. That part of the Malaysia is by all means accessible all year round.

Hey i totally agree with muno, your pics are damn cool...some of the best i have seen of mumbai. By the way i just discovered that mumbai also has almost 9 bandstands which were defunct for ages and now have been renovated and perfomances have begun. recently the mumbai police band and the army band played there..its free for all to attend check this link out: http://www.wherecity.com/articles/rhythm-revival-at-city-bandstands-37.html

Hi Margaret! I've just spoken to mum and she said you were asking about the book... it'll be a priority when I get back, but considering how many photos I've taken, it may take a while!! Congrats to you both on your anniversary, I wish I'd seen mum in action!

Hi Luke. I did my trip with Absolute Africa - it's called the Absolute Safari. It was an amazing trip, but I think several companies offer similar packages. I would recommend Absolute. I'm using a Nikon D70 camera, just a basic SLR, but with a 300mm zoom lens for the wildlife shots. Enjoy Africa!

Latest Blog
Looked at your latest Blog in Bruges after we sent you the email, the birdlife looks colourful and we like the names of the places. Lucky you met Hannah and she had a car (never acheived that when I was your age).

Hmm, I don't remember there being much roadkill at all in NZ actually... nothing to compare to Oz. But it is definitely sad.
27th March 2010

You have some amazing photos here :) They're beautiful !
26th March 2010

great again!
If you think the roadkill is bad there, wait until you get to N.Z, it's really sad :o( As always, loving your pictures! Have fun. Deni

25th March 2010

I always have in mind that I need a shot to use for the panorama... I find that abstract things often work best. No idea why it's grainy... probably compressed when I uploaded it.

Composition
Nice panorama composition, I need to be more creative with mine (I usually stick to landscape)! But why is it so grainy? Ben

Hi J, Never been to Australia, Nice pic of Hamish. You still look gaunt. My bro was at Monash Uni for 5 years and did not want us going down under. I wonder why? Always wondered about it. Unimaginable antics by the firstborn (?)-my parents would have died from shame! Take care. Su

Everything I've seen so far has been cute and cuddly... wombats, wallabies, pademelons, roos and echidnas. I don't believe all this crap about Oz being full of deadly creatures... although the Tassie Devils are another matter

Ah-up for down-under
Keep your thong(s) on and eyes peeled to enjoy Oz's venomous spiders, box jelly-fish, joe blakes, stone fish, crocs, sharks and blue-ringed octopus! Have a bonza time.

Stan!!! Yep, I think that's it... maybe my memory is slowly filtering out all those unpleasant smells, the constant sound of car horns and the everpresent piles of rubbish! I'm not quite ready to go back yet though...

Indian amnesia
Ha, you've got the indian amnesia... it seems to kick in a few months after you have been there where you think "It really wasn't that bad, was it?!"
