Well, I can hardly believe that Our Big Adventure (OBA!) is imminent. Saturday evening, 10.30, precisiely 48 hours till we leave Heathrow to Perth, via Hong Kong, on Monday 16th January. I have just booked our seats on-line for the first leg as it is the first time we have flown as a family and I want to make sure we are together. Ellen is out at a farewell party with her girlfiends, Michelle had a send off with her friends yesterday and I had a 'bon voyage' with mine on Thursday - what wonderful friends we have :-) In a way this is trip is a very much curtailed version of the one I had planned many years ago - we were going to explore America, Asia, S Pacific & Australia over 6 months or ... read more
