Went to Rome over the weekend. In a sketchy turn of events we were riding on the Eurostar to Rome the day of the bombings in London. The trains were delayed so we got to Rome about an hour and a half late, but everything was alright. We decided not to take the metro in Rome except to and from the train station. Although that led to a lot of walking, we saw what we needed to see. We went to Vatican City the first day and toured the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, climbed the stairs to the top of the Basilica dome (lots and lots of stairs).
