Well even though you guys have had your share of challenges, it sounds like you are making the best of it. It sounds like an amazing place to be regardless...good luck with your next endeavor!
The band played on! Hi, well I'm pretty sure the church faces west, but I could be wrong, as you had mentioned this in a previous blog. Anyway your new job experiences are certainly testing you and your family's life in the Tropics. Manana is always there for you, plans can be changed for the better in most cases. I hope this next phase works out, one thing is, you are getting closer and closer to the ocean and lots of beaches. Love T
Rambutan Thanks for the information...I´ll get teh spelling and post the spanish name for it. At ten dollars for a bottle of rum it is easy to handle anything that comes our way. Yes it is frustrating but as Terry comments we are up to handling it and we really do appreciate our priviledged life in Canada. Ben said this morning it was time to go swimming at ¨seven o´clock. He tells me is a fish....Nice to hear from everyone and also nice to see so many people know what that friut is called..I´ve seen it before maybe in your grocery bag Bryan but have never really remember it. I can tell you one thing I don´t miss about Canada is all the meeting to keep me away from the important stuff. Who coming to visit
bueno! Nice to see you guys are off on the adventure of a lifetime! Bravo. The fruit in the picture is called a RAMBUTAN - and is in the Lychee family. They're pretty tasty, eh? Do you have any geckos living in your apt with you?
Name that Fruit Hi Ron, great to see your blog. Looks like you're having a GREAT time there... making me really jealous. Things are going fine here -- getting to know my new school and attending meetings like crazy (just so that I won't get too comfortable and/or caught up on my work, apparently).
Hey, your fruit is one my favorites when I go to the Philippines. It's called "Rambutan" over there (pronounced ram-boo-TAN), and I sometimes see it in the Chinese grocery store in Saskatoon sold under the same name.
I brought some to Consul last year and told the kids it was an insect with an eyeball inside. They loved it.
Hey... enjoy the time down there! Take care.
Bryan
Is it Manana yet? I'm glad you added the part about having a great time. Please tell me it gets better! I enjoyed the videos. Is Ben really swimming? That's great! We're planning our Thanksgiving here and really missing all of you. Hope to hear good news next blog.
Hang in there! Hi,
When you go somewhere esle for a holiday, one never sees the real life there until you live it. As we have spoken before, working in the Middle East has certainly opened my eyes to the world of travelling and actually living and working with other cultures. You are trully getting the real life experience, kind of makes you appreciate what we have at home. I know that you and Nataghia and the boys can handle anything they throw at you.
Have fun. Love T
Hello to all!! Hi everyone and thanks for reading the blog. I love to check it out and see comments. It makes me feel much closer to home and that is a nice feeling. Yes, the journey truly is what the adventure is about. Learning about ourselves and the way we deal with interesting situations is truly amazing. So far we are all still smiling and very thankful for the wonderful things we have in Canada, and the things we have been able to experience here. Pura vida has many interpretations in my mind and we are experiencing them all. Love Nataghia
Trip I must say you are experiencing some challenging adventures to say the least. The boys are doing well to be hanging in there. I don't think my patience would be too good by this time- You are getting the TEST of all times!!
Hang in there! Hi Nowlans! Wow! I can't wait for your book to be published! Rich life experiences for you and especially for your boys. They'll learn creative problem solving excellente from you! Good luck with your bungalows search!
Playschool starts on Thursday, Nataghia, so I've been thinking of you. There is only one class...not enough 3 year olds to make 2 classes. They'll have fun! How is the home schooling going ....actually you won't find what your boys are learning through any home school curriculum, right? Take care!!
Love Deb
No Worries Think of it this way - it makes for more interesting stories to tell us! Always a bright side! Have fun kids and remember that the journey is part of the adventure. Aloha!
Having Fun Yet! Hi again,
I screwed up on my first attempt, as I thought I could try out the spelling corrector, but that didn't work. Anyway, looks like you and the family are off too a great year or whatever. I thought I would just give a quick hello to everybody and hugs also, as I am heading back to Yemen on Sunday. A 4-week stint this time, so hopefully I can get your blogs forwarded by Diane. Diane and I are really looking forward to coming down in February. Anyway take care. Terry
Excellente! Hola amigos! We are with you in spirit! Believe it or not...I'm sitting at Alleykatz (late evening) with the ceramic heater on to keep my feet from freezing! How wonderful your experiences are for you all. I can feel the water from the pics and your descriptions! Will you be going to turtle beach? (to save the turtles from poachers?) Jim and I just made a fast trip to Vancouver to see my Aunt and Uncle. We had a magnificent trip through the beautiful Rockies. I was so happy to see my Aunt and Uncle doing so well. Guess what Benjamin and Owen? I got to ride in a helicopter over the Rockies....a short ride but it was a dream come true for me! Kaiden calls helicopters "hobber gobbers" (That's not Spanish) Must go. Thanks for your trip journal! It's so great to keep up with your travels! Love to you! from Deb and the Alleykatz kids
good news all the way around! Congratulations on the awesome job offer(s)!. You should consider writing a book about this year. Your spirit of adventure, patience and flexibility have resulted in this special opportunity. The location and accomodations are wonderful perks. We enjoy all the pictures.... what wonderful scenery. The entire family looks so very comfortable. Will keep you posted on happenings at the office. Keep safe.
Isn't God Good!!` Wow I marvel how you can find the time to write these awesome reports with your busy schedule.Am so thankful that you are all safe and enjoying this adventure. And even a great job offer!
The cliches I could come up with Everything happens for a reason, every cloud has...nevermind. I think your open and flexible attitude on this adventure is paying off. The Esparza job sounds too good to be true and you're right--too good to pass up! That places you where at Chrismas? Hope you're enjoying your beach week while the rest of us get back onto the "back to school" and other activities merry-go-round.
Awesome Pictures What an education your boys are getting!! They will never forget their experiences and will have so much to tell their friends. I am always anxious to hear what happens next in the Nolan Saga. Keep those pictures and info coming. Take care.
Hi from Eastend Hi Ron and family,
Sounds like you are having quite the adventure. The pics are great. Too bad about the job but who knows, could turn out for the better. Take care.
