Welcome to Yellowstone Beautiful photos Bob. Glad you are back on the grid (for now). It’s cool that you’ve hooked up with
Pat and Jane again. Hope you can get some good rest.
Brew Pubbing It is great to be with Pat. We are pretty close in riding pace and Jane is a sweetie. Plus the transportation at the end of the day is a game changer!
Hope you all had a great Pub Crawl!
Beautiful pictures Wow dad! You are riding through some truly awe-inspiring, beautiful scenery now. Sorry the ride has been tough as of late, but keep up the amazing work!! Can’t wait to see more :) xo Bre
Prevailing Winds Sorry to hear of the wind issue. We battled them daily... so as Dee and I said daily “THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS PREVAILING WINDS”
somehow the wind manages to put a damper on the day. But you keep going Bob, you’re almost done... I’m proud of you ...
winds So sorry man! As we have discussed, headwinds are the worst and you were smart to stop short. Mental attitude is paramount and the winds totally wear us down.
Tail winds Played tennis today...1st time in months and actually did fine. The Diverge is all decked out now with brand spanking new Brooks Cabrium saddle and you will love my new bike storage set up...no extender, rather a free hanging bike bag by Ortlieb that handles up to 16ltr of stuff, way more that I will need!! Maybe I can carry some of your stuff? Miss you and will be back with you in a couple weeks. Came up against some hard bodies yesterday on Del Dios and they passed me on the climb, only to succumb to my speeding by them as we approached RSF as I am getting accustomed to the weight and flow of the "adventure" bike. I loved it and was smiling liking a schoolgirl as I checked them out in my rear view mirror......?
Almost There! Cuz! I've got a room booked for you at The Rodeway Inn in Lander. Still planning on coming to visit with you Monday. I'll head down there 11:30-ish. Should be there around 2 or so. See you very soon! Hope Jeffrey City isn't too hard on you (wink).
Soothing your weary bonz... Glad you had a "spa" day to get those legs back into peddling shape. Such a grand adventure Bob! Jerome is up there rooting you on and on and on although he'd be drivin' the sag wagon and having a G & T each evening in celebration of YOUR work! Remarkable your fortitude, endurance, resilience and wonder at the marvels of our great nation. Thanks for taking us all along for this ride of a lifetime. Love, Chelle
General Plan? Hi Bob, You are gettin 'er done and in fine style! I have been semi-trapped in Reykjavik for a week with crummy, cloudy, cold, wet weather waiting for my flight to Halifax, Nova Scotia. I was curious...it seems like you are heading pretty far north. Are you heading for Portland or Seattle or will you angle south further on? Whichever way, you are doing great!
Just awesome! Just returned from our trip to Iceland and Norway and finally read through all your blogs from way back before the Ozarks. What an incredible adventure! Highs and lows, ups and downs, and you have stayed strong through it all. So inspiring! And a beautiful record of this amazing trip! And hey, are you on schedule? I will b in Gibbonsville Idaho 7/11-7/15. I know you will be passing through Wisdom, Montana sometime soon and if you happen to be there on Saturday, July 14, I may be able to buy you a beer!!! Continued good riding and good fortune!
Great to hear from you. Hi John,
It is great to hear from you. I always enjoy your thoughts.
I am on time from my revised itinerary. I will check my route and get back to you on that.
I also will look forward to hearing about Iceland.

Ride along .... Hi Bob, Your commentaries have been fabulous! John Steinbeck would be proud! You've done a masterful job of making all of us out here in viewer land feel like we're riding along with
you. May the force be with you "old warrior" as you continue on your mechanical horse through western Colorado! Be well and be safe ......
Hi John It is so great to hear from you. I am blushing from your complements. I really have tried to tell the stories of my day and you have given me strength to keep it up.
Thanks John so much!
I am a retired Airline Pilot and have crossed the United States at 33,000 feet for over 30 years. Now that I am retired, I felt it was time to cross it by bicycle. In September of 2015 I rode from Vancouver, Canada to Tijuana, Mexico with four friends, so this will be my second bicycle adventure. Although I spent 20 years in the Navy, eight active and twelve as a reserve, my experience was far different than those who have served in the last twenty five years. I plan to ride this trip in honor of all who have given so much to serve their country. ... full info
