Hi Hope you are all well, everything fine on our side. We are now in Richards Bay and the right place to be for these colder months, the weather is great. This park seems to cater mostly for pensioners and the older folks so I feel a bit out of place lol. but enjoying it. The park management arranges all sorts of entertainment for the campers, morning tea and snacks, walks on the beach, supper at the bout club witch is realy cheap and good food. On the fishing front not much happening and thay wont allow me on the harbour with my boat, it has to be regestered and sea worthy althow it is in the estuary, doesnt make sense, you can go out in a canoo and paddle around on a ski but not ... read more

Hi, here we are again, we are now at Tugela mouth resort up in Zulu land, a neat little park but very little lawn and a lot of sand, but we can live with that after Nam. We met up with a couple that we had met in Mosselbay and it was a nice surprise, I also managed to track down a old friend of mine from 20 years ago when i had a busness in Richards bay and it was nice to see him again, he now owns a major big yaght witch he has sailed all over the world, we are going up to stay in R/ Bay for a month when we leave here so i will be putting on my best charm and see if we can get to go sailing with ... read more

Hi all, the wild coast is realy wild but unspoilt, nature is what it was supposed to be, wild. What thay say about the roads here are true, you need patiants and be wide awake, lots of road works and stop and go, then you get to go you find a notice board that says there are traffic calmers for the next 20 kl, what that is is speed humps every 100 meters and then you get 3 in a row, now towing a van here is no fun, first gear to go over the humps then to 2 nd and back to 1st for the next humps, (traffic calmers, my bum, more like traffic agrevaters.) But when we reached our destination it was all worth it,we are on the bank of the Umzumvubu river about ... read more

Well 1 year now we have been traveling, thinking back our Nam trip with all the problems was very interesting, meeting up with the locals especialy the old sheep shearer will always stay in my memory, but S A is still more buetifull, We are still in East london and will be leaving in aprox. a week or so to go up to Port st johns for a few days and then up towards KZN. We have seen more game around this area than in Addo, there are a lot of game farms around and game can be spotted from the roadside often, and at night on the roads aswell, so you have to be wide awake when traveling after dark, well not much else at this stage, i have taken up fishing seeing as with ... read more

Hi All, we have finaly moved on from Klein brak, we spent 2 days in a park outside Addo and did a trip into the park, it was realy nice, we saw plenty ellies and lots of buck but no lions. I broke a window on the van at the entrance of the park, the gates are very narrow, that is my story and i am sticking to it, Wanda says i should use those mirrors on the side of the car, but what has the mirrors got to do with a narrow entrance, the problem is now to get hold of a new one, no carevan shops here, but will sort it out. After Addo we moved up to East london and are now at Yellow sand park, a nice park with buetifull beach, will ... read more

O K we are in Windhoek on a farm called Monteiro, a couple of nice sites with a lappa for each site, nice for shade and a nice wind break,(windhoek means windhoek) The city itself might as well be in S A all the normal shops and banks, vruit and veg, WWorths, pick and pay, checkers etc. The last blog was in Keetmans hoop, from there we went to Helmeringhausen on a farm called Lovedale, these private parks on the farms are realy nice to stay in, friendly personel service, much neater than NWR, resorts, much neater and almost half the price, Lovedale farm has been in the same family for 5 generationes and thay farm with sheep. we bought some lovely mutton there, you dont seem to get lamb here in Nam. From here we wnt ... read more
