This is a little late and I do apologize. Just not looking forward to the time it will take to upload all the pictures we took. Well, this was our first official getaway weeekend. Thanks to Germanwings (www.germanwings.com) and their blind bookings. We got an amazing deal to fly to London. Only 30 Euro roundtrip for each of us. NOT TOO BAD. On the downside we flew into Stanstead Airport which then mean we had to get tickets to take the train from Stansted to get into downtown London where most of the main action is. We stayed at The Holiday Inn in North Greenwich. Located right near the O2-in Southeast London. We got a good deal with that at about 65$ US dollars a night..Cheapest we could find in the city. I really wanted to ... read more

Im catching up on blogs and pics for the family. Sorry some of these are months late. This blog is about our trip to the Neuschwanstien Castle. Some history (thanks to wikipedia): The castle is a 19th-century Romanesque Revival palace on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen in southwest Bavaria, Germany. The palace was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria. The palace was intended as a personal refuge for the reclusive king, but it was opened to the paying public immediately after his death in 1886. The palace has appeared prominently in several movies and was the inspiration for Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle. We woke up VERY early to catch a taxi from our apt to PanzerKasserne. We didnt have our car yet and that was the most expensive cab ride in ... read more

There is some fabulous food and drinks around this city. We love to eat, drink, and to try new foods so this is the perfect place. We just have to up the workouts so we dont gain too much weight while were here. I'll be updating this page frequently as I like to take pics of fabulous meals...... The first photos are from a greek restaurant just a few train stops away on Plieninger Strasse on the U3. Walk toward the shops and you will see the blue and white sign on the left on the corner of the street. They also have a small hotel there. We had some beers and each got a nice salat. Then we shared a meat platter. It was HUGE and delish. We also got free Ouzo from the owner and ... read more

As promised here is the blog on our short visit to the Tv Tower and multiple visits to the Indoor Market. First up is our visit to the TV Tower. It was built between 1954-1956. It rises up from the summit of Hoher Bopser in Degerloch in south Stuttgart. It is the first concrete and steel TV tower in the world. It stretches 217 Meters high. The top portion has a broadcasting studio and cafe. Luckily there is an elevator to make the trip up that much easier. Once outside we almost blew away and froze to death at the same time. Still definitely worth the 5 Euro cost to get up there. The view was stunning and I look forward to visiting again in the summer. Unfortunately the cafe was beyond packed since everyone had ... read more

Hello All! Ive been slacking greatly with the travelblog. I do apologize..... Nick and I have made numerous trips out and about town to check out the sites. I will post pics and try to put the story with the pics...... To start...one of my favorite views and places to walk is the Schlossplatz. It's size is remarkable and even in winter is beautiful. Almost all the pictures I have seen of the square in the spring/summer time. Green grass, flowers, people sitting at tables. Now in these winter photos of mine it won't be quite as green but still a site to see. Now in the centre is a tall slender Jubilee Column that was donated by the Estates in 1841. Their are also two identical cup fountains on each side of the column with ... read more

Our first weekend trip! Saturday December 12th-13th Ulm, Ravensburg, Beinfurt Our first weekend trip we headed south to visit Nick's family. We made a few stops to do some sightseeing. The weather on the way there wasn't too bad. Cold and a few flurries with no accumulation. Our first stop was in Ulm to see the Ulmer Minster. One of the tallest churches in the area. I remember studying this church back in my art history days but unfortunately I didn't remember too much information. It took us quite awhile to find parking- in that some places you have to have a certain pass to park on the streets. So we kept winding our way through the village untill we found an open spot. Once you were near the center of the town you could hear ... read more

Hello everyone! Incase any of you dont know..I have made it to Germany safe and sound. I arrived Friday morning and flew directly in Stuttgart Airport. The flight wasn't too bad. We actually arrived about 30 min early. Now we were on an older plane. It only had the big tv with the little ones in each aisle. I really was hoping for the one that has the screen on each headrest but no luck. The man two seats down said it is very rare to get a new plane on the Atlanta to Stuttgart flight. I'll remember for future reference since he said he flies it almost monthly for work. Nick was able to rent a car for the weekend so he met me at the airport. A very nice Audii. I told him maybe ... read more

Hello folks I took a day trip to Busan today. Good times. We hopped on the KTX for an hour train ride there. Got there early afternoon and took a failry long taxi ride to the beach. But was I a happy camper once we got there. Too bad it was a little chilly:( First and foremost, Koreans do not wear swim suits or swim costumes (as the welsh call them lol). they go in with their clothes on. They also had jet ski's zooming around dangerously close to the beach and swimming area. Also, we picked a great day to go. It was Busan Awakening 2008. Fun times. A gigantic christian revival of some sorts with stage and jumbo tvs and fireworks and unfortunately some high pitched singing. We layed on the beach for awhile ... read more

We made it to the beaches everyone. It is absolutely stunning, breathtaking, amazing, undesribbable really. not much time to chat. internet is pricey here on the beaches. the one and only downside. :) Will add to blogs when i get back to bangkok tonight. Miss you all. kisses to nick :) well i have a little more time to finish this. we were at krabi, ao nang? and railay thailand. railey was absolutely the best place out of all of this primarily due to the beach and the scenery. First thing to mention is on monday when we left bangkok for krabi-(abt an hr plane ride) i became deathly ill in the cab ride. upset stomach, nauseousness, clammy, sweaty, soooooo ready to pass out. i was very scared and had really bad anxiety. I some how ... read more
