Hue You know I hunger for pictures of your trip-especially if they include Karlie! What a great adventure you are sharing with her. Thank you so very much!
Hello my friends...looks like fun, fun your having! I had my nails done today & was going to have my girl write for me in Vietnamese to y'all, but u have to put these little thing above letters & it would have taken forever... Did learn that sai is drunk! Funny that's the only word I know..sad news here I had to put Garfield down..he got hit by a car? josh had to sit with him..broke my heart..but the best for him! Vic has started to get very depressed & said he wasn't going to ear until they let him out...par for course, time to up meds. I know he's miserable . If u guys are sitting down..Shelby offer to back pay for hay...WHAT...of course it won't happen, but never has offered before..they have paid for all grain...that's a first. Jerry is doing great..Bree had to go to hospital, doing ok. Has it been a year yet?? I know time is flying by for you, seems like you go go go. Love your posts, waiting for the next..hugs & kisses. ?
Go, Go, Go At our age travel is too much like work and now that the hot weather is here with a vengeance things are even harder. We're heading to Cambodia on Monday for our mandatory visit to Angkor Wat. Ever see Tomb Raider? That's the place. After that we're heading to the Thai islands, a hut, a hammock and if we're lucky we'll have two weeks of sitting on our butts doing nothing. We're thinking of heading in a totally different direction and going to Northern India for some mountain views and cool breezes. Sorry about Garfield. Re: Shelby; Take it and run. Tell Vic I said Hello. There but for the grace of God....
Quy Nhon Awesome and descriptive story Mike! Thanks for making it so real I almost feel like I am traveling with you and Karen and Karlie. Very jealous of your time and so glad you have taken on my daughter-such a great experience for her! Enjoy!
Good to hear from you Karen, glad to see you are looking relaxed. You both sound well and seem to be staying in a gorgeous place. Things ok here. We're going to remodel the kitchen. Ugh. Not my forte. I know what you guys went through. We're hiring it done but I'm putting a limit on the number of decisions I have to make--10 maximum! Then they just have to figure it out. Have to move my office. Another ugh! On a good note, saw the Lion King musical and was transported. Now I don't have to go to Africa. Great show. Travel tip: don't go to Malaysia. Keep writing. Love, liz
Hi you traveller! Always wonderful to sit here in still cold weather and a grey sky and look at your pictures from Vietnam and read your wonderful written travel stories. We are heading to go to FL in three weeks. Sorry you still won\'t be there. Enjoy your travel and enjoy life! We think of you!
I'll try this again to send to you....I see you got bad boys report! Mike a sunburn...don't you live in FL...ha . I got my worst sunburn on a cool cloudy day. I'm in the mood for the beach, but spring break is going on & hear the beaches are a nightmare. The pollen is at its peak, everything is yellow & walking around in a fog from allergy meds. Keep healthy and safe. HAVE FUN!! XOXO Karen
Karen A. We're in Hue which is a nice city just south of the DMZ. Heading back south this week, eventually getting back to Saigon and then to Cambodia. Eating like pigs here. Too many French bakeries!
Hey there! Just spent my morning coffee reading your blogs!! Love it!!! Discovered the 1st one had gone to my junk, so had to search a bit. I'm a little over 3 weeks out of surgery & doing well. Not really true, it sucks not being able to do anything!!!! Hoping to get Bree out of hospital today! He's been in 3 weeks today with viral pneumonia!!! Tough on me since I haven't been able to drive! Did once last week when I needed to take Kevin to Dr because he's having pain issues with his incision! Should hear results from ultra sound today. Pirates spring training is starting soon, so Jeff is constantly working, helping with Mom & Terry, grocery shopping & fixing all the crap that keeps breaking! The neighborhood seems fine (how would I know? I've been on drugs for 2 weeks! Ha!). Karen A has been SOOOO helpful to me during all this!!! We think of you all often & so happy to hear your trip is going well!
Hey you 2 Nice to read about your travel...take care and greetz from a german jelous men,-))) enjoy all of your citys..contries...people who you met....greetz markus
Fond memories of Darmstadt I liked your comments about Darmstadt. I was stationed there from 1968 to 1972, so I guess our times of service overlapped a bit. I worked in the dental clinic, so I never stood duty at the gates. I doubt I'd recognize the place anymore; I've looked at maps and tried to figure out where I drove, and I think I drove all over the town, but nothing looks familiar. I haven't returned since I left. I really did like Germany, though.
Thank you Great thoughts about germany. I am really thankful for the help from the allies at ww2. My father fought in russia and after frozen his feet fought a short time against american forces. When he was wounded he was taken to an american hospital in france which saved his arm and his life. He never liked the americans but on the other hand loved his relatives from the US visiting him several times and staying at his place. Thank you for freeing germany from the nazis and helping to become a wonderful place to live. You are welcome.
Thanks for the update..I just asked Jerry today if she had seen anything for you..she is doing great ..Bree is in the hospital ..May have to go back to mayo..that family makes me tired! ha. Sounds like your off to a really good time already ..awesome! Noah is so tall, I just haven't seen him in a long time..he should still be a kid..my "boys" still don't like their new wood gates..happy, happy! Mike where were you 5 years ago? ha keep having a fun & safe trip...xoxo

Who's the giant dude? I can't get over how gigantic Noah is! He seems to be growing still! He looks wonderful, and so do the both of you. Keep the blogs coming, that I might travel vicariously through you. :) Give Noah my love!
It's all in the timing I am back to work today, after our first Christmas without Dad. It was a bittersweet day and I found myself teary more than once. I have dreaded that day for many years. I've been well aware our family was living on borrowed time where Dad was concerned and knew all too well that this first Christmas would eventually arrive. We had his favorite (prime rib roast) for dinner, and I am pretty sure he was there, exerting his will that the roast be rare enough. We thought it would never finish cooking! I know it was also Karen and her siblings' first Christmas without their mother, and I hope they know they were in my heart all day. I was immediately reduced to tears upon seeing your blog announcement. The title was all it took.
Your pictures of Noah are unrecognizable! Somewhere in his experience, he picked up a man face. Another bittersweet moment. Time is flying by. My love to you and Karen.

Pride and Predudice Mike I do not fully understand why your writing makes me proud to be an American, but it does. God Bless to you and Karen. Please publish more often.
We are Mike and Karen. We were fortunate enough to retire while we still had our wits and our legs. We are striving to fill our days with long journeys and lazy days.
