My wedding. How are you two? I tried to send emails to you guys many times, but got rejected by aol.com? If you can read this comment, please try to contact me via my email by a google email address. Miss you two alot.
Copan So glad that you and Karen are still traveling and discovering great places to visit. Cold and snowy here in Virginia. Anxiously awaiting spring. Glad to still have Karlie home-she is an awesome helper for her dad. Won't be here forever so we are thankful for her now as she decides which way to go. Enjoy life! Lisa
Florence Was suggesting to Fai last night, while in Florence.. on a hill NE of the city is Fiesole, the original settlement in the area with ruins of an Etruscan village and temple, later Roman Theater, Medici country villa and an historic convent as well as the existing town, with beautiful estates lining the drive from the city. And, located high on the hill, maybe one of the best restaurants in the area with spectacular view of Florence, La Reggia Degli Etruschi. 3000+yrs of history in one little ville. Amazing.
Very Kewl In college I took some Archeology and one of the profs was specialized in S. and Central Amer..Still have interest so this is very cool.. I'm jealous.. but looking forward to Italy in a couple of months. Finally will get to see the Forum and other sights in Rome, and art in Florence.
Italy Florence remains one of my favorite cities. The Medici Chapel and the Ponte Vecchio in and of themselves are worth the trip and the Tuscan food available there is great. Pick up a bottle of Ruffino Chianti Classico/ Riserva Ducale and enjoy a meal of Vitello Al Forno. It's all good Len.
Guatemala With the freezing temps in Baltimore and your fabulous photos it makes us want to hop on an airplane and head that way. Sounds like a perfect adventure.
Bear and horse meat, but no mugging. :-) Love you're blog. You won't find only bear on the menu, but also horse meat and there's been no mugging in Ljubljana for the past 40 years. :-) https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2592891
Guatamala Sounds like you've made some good decisions. Martin sounds like a great guy. We may ask you for his details before we go to Guatamala. Sounds like you have discovered some amazing small towns in some beautiful locations. Hope we can see them before they change too much. Really enjoyed your impressions and photos.
Maryland We've been living in Maryland for a few months. It is really great to read your blog. We might have to check out that museum. Lots of history where ever you go. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you are enjoying Lake Atitlan. We have many good memories of this little paradise we found a few years ago and are so anxious to get back there on the 24th of February. Sure wish that you guys were going to be in Santa Cruz when we get there. We have a beautiful place with lots of room for guests.
Cumberland's Fruit Bowl Mike, my family has been cutting through Cumberland for more than half a century going to my Grandmother's farm in Berlin Pa. My favorite place is the Fruit Bowl: below what is called "lover's leap": those high cliffs by the railroad tracks. dozens of barrels of old fashion candy ( you know the kind you CAN'T buy at CVS and Giant Food), spices, and fruit and more. This all put a smile on my face. Say hi to Karen, and take care
Long ride Say what? When you were at Fort Lee you were only an hour away! We would love to show you some return hospitality for your kindness to Karlie and get to meet you to. Maybe on your return trip or are you leaving the county for the north? Anyway- you are welcome. Hope your Christmas was merry and bright! Lisa

We are Mike and Karen. We were fortunate enough to retire while we still had our wits and our legs. We are striving to fill our days with long journeys and lazy days. Over the past few years we have taken a yen to SE Asia. Our past trips have included South and North America, Europe and East Africa. Life is good and getting better all the time.... full info
