Whoooooooooooooo Matt - that sounds awesome.. what an amazing trip you're having in such a beautiful place.
I've always wanted to go into the Pantanal and Hyacinth Macaws are my faaaaaaaaaaavorite bird, I've only seen them at Heathrow quarantines and they're so rare so it must've fab to see them in the wild.
Keep having fun and keep safe

Away Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you not keep your backside on a chair for five mins..... galavanting again. Must say it looks lovely. Now the romance side is puzzling me..... Was Viv not your old girlfriend....... I thought you had moved on to someone else that you met when you were away. I need the gossip and if Viv is the old girl friend then has it moved on a notch with the old case of absence makes the heart grow fonder..... Put me out my suspenders oop suspense.

A year ON?????? Hey Matthew,
I thought I'd type a quick message to thank you for sharing us your adventures and fantastic work in Lanuza and Southern Philippines.
I just wondered how you are getting on with life back home here in the UK a year on after such fab time and hard-work in The Philippines. It would be great to just hear what you are up to now these days.
I am contemplating on going back to my homeland in the next couple of years to do a soul-searching intrepid travel. I really want to hear your stories of southern Philippines as I am originally from up north and have never ventured down south. I would be grateful if you could e-mail me and let me know if this is possible. I don't know where you live in the UK but I am in Brighton.
All the best and hope to hear from you shortly!!!

An ususal place to have a blog written about it, but it caught my eye because I'd love to go. Uzbekistan is definitely on my list. Thanks for writing about it.
blog deprivation Well Matt, Youv'e done it all...... and I feel I have lived all the moments with you. It has been great to read about all your travels etc and I will now need to get a travel brochure out so I can flick to places of far flung adventure.
Hope you arrive back safe and well and is it a case of 'gees a job I can do it' or do you have something lined up with the old FC.....
Take care

Hello from Arch and Fi Just been catching up on the blogs since end of the Phillipines. Wow, what a trip! you're in the places we didn't make it to...yet, but being ever so much more intrepid and altitudionous than we tend to be. Glad you're having a good time. Looking forward to reading the next instalment. Keep on keeping on. Fi xx
Yellow! Hi Matt,
Guess what, we found Splits at the weekend in West Lancs YC dinghy park. Not being sailed due to a Laser 12hr race being on, but looked well... Might even be able to get her back when you get home!
Take that! The rains must be an expression of loss for someone who has shared a slice of his life to Lanuza and is now leaving! You have given more hope to the people of Lanuza. What you have left is an indelible mark in their hearts and minds.
Home is where the heart is. I know when you get back to Lanuza... you would be home... again! And Lanuza would be rushing to welcome you back.
Good luck!
'Twas 2 Years Already?! I'm your avid reader and fan!
Couldn't believe that you're leaving the Philippines soon. Just look how you have spent those days. What precious days those were. Very precious for those whose lives you have touched.
What you have done would be remembered by the people you've met. One corner of the world became a better place to live because you have shared yourself to others.
You will be remembered with fondness too by those people you have not even met. Like me.
I will remember you for doing things that I have not dared even think of doing. I'll remember you for giving your heart to my countrymen. Thank you very, very much.
With all my admiration and respect, I wish you better years ahead and a very fruitful life. More power to you!
thanks i was reading some blogs about our country and i came across yours... thanks for the help that you extended to our fellow filipino people in mindanao...
Excellent So good to feel some involvement with that community. Great stuff. The experience with the police will prepare you well for returning to the FC!

Looks like you had a wonderful time in the Amazon, we particularly like the coati and the hammocks!
