Hi there Matt. It's early Christmas morning here and my turkey is in the oven and all other necessary chores have been completed. Wiith a couple of hours to kill before the television provides its usual festive films I've been doing a bit of 'surfing' myself and paid another visit to your blog. You certainly seem to be having a good time - although I'm not certain about some of the food or some of the local transport - especially that carabaw! I might have sufficient padding to make it more comfortable but that sharp back-bone looks positively dangerous! I note it's not all been hard work for you and I'm wondering what skills you have that permitted you to be part of the media team for that bikini contest! Your protestations that it all became a bit boring doesn't really ring true - especially with that 'Gwapa lady' photograph. Keep up the good work in the forests Matt and I hope you had a lovely Christmas - can I airmail you a brussel sprout or two? Regards Lorna

Hi Matt Y! I am impressed with your guts to fly into an unfamiliar country, such as ours, and volunteer to preserve its natural resources. I notice you have forever been referring to your location as Lanuza. Also you have been classifying your location as just part of Mindanao. This information may be unsolicited but I can't resist to _share_ with you some Phil. geography. I have recently traveled to Mindano myself just a few weeks ago. Hi Matt... Hope you're settling in well over there.. Glad you've got there ok (did you fit the melons in your suitcase) Very impressed you're having 1-1 tuition.. you'll be fluent in 'filipenese' (?) by the time you get back.. pictures look awesome! How are the trees? I went back to the botanics the other day to speak the Herbarium people over my dissertation.. thinking identification is a MAJOR task.. Anyway.. Off to meet Laura this afternoon who's back for a wee while.. nice and sunny in St.Andrews today though our beach pales abit in comparison to where you are I think.. Take care and keep in touch.. Mr Young, you're an inspiration. Great to see you last week, I hope all has gone well since. Currently busy enjoying the wet Edinburgh spring, now lit until 8pm thanks to the beauty of BST.
