Good Work! Hi Chris & Frank! Pleased for you that you are now in the Bahamas. You must be feeling good about yourselves having overcome that hurdle(: Your pictures are beautiful, I hope you had time to enjoy that beach for a while. Couldn't that large piece of 'junk' be used on your boat? I know I'm being a devil - but it does look like a good base for a mast head....
I've been very busy making summer rentals and will be signing up cottage owners over the next month or so. So missed opening a few blogs (I have them all still, of course) - but couldn't resist seeing and hearing about you in the BAHAMAS!
Love you, enjoy! And keep taking care. I need you safe. Love Elizabeth XXOO
Welcome Home! Hi this is Chris and Peaches from Star of the Sea and we welcome you with open arms to the Bahamas, no finally included in this greeting. We are moored in Hope Town for the next few days and will gradually work our way north and finally, sadly, east to Florida some time mid April. I would love to see you all, Ginger included, so I'll keep track of where you are. We will be here a week it looks like, as there are some strong winds. We got as far south this year as Long Island, which was wonderful. This is our first Abacos journey so we are soaking it in. We're having a little shell shock because of the hustle-bustle here, lots of people and boatsafter the Exumas! Keep us updated as to your location and impressions. Love, Chris and Peaches
You Made It Congratulations! You made it! Bill and I are envious and so proud of you. Frank will get the big fish one day, too. Enjoy yourselves because you have worked so hard and earned it.
Oh, Yeah! Chris and Frank...what an adventure! (an understatement despite the exclamation mark) Chris, your pix are getting better and better (and it isn't the scenery, although that gets a plus too). Frank, your fishing can only improve. Stay sailing in the area until August when I'm freer. Yet in my state, which isn't leaving quickly, I do find myself getting enthusiastic and then having to back out of promises, which is very frustrating and against my nature. I'm dreaming about Marrakech -- a writing and painting excursion -- but have a budge to balance (boohoo). Enough about me and my ups and downs...I'm hoping there are many more "divine experiences" in your future -- you both have the karma to attract them. Love.
Wheeeeeels!!!! Brrrrrrrrr!!!
As you know we have had another whack of winter just to remind us what we are looking forward too. It will, really it will. The day before yesterday we actually saw all of our garden even though it was a little wet... then POOF it was gone! But it will return and we have pictures for recognition!
Cheers, M&M

Hello fine folks Christina and Frank,
Thought of you today and found your card to view write-ups and pics and writeback to say you both look happy with your life 'on the water'. My Mom and Dad had a place in Lake Worth and West Palm Beach for 23 years so familiar territory for me. Been to Riviera Beach with my Dad as my protector (rough area) and Jack's nephew is a City planner there but lives on Singer Island where I went on my honeymoon with previous hubby. Small world indeed!
I retired on 10/10/10 and am so glad I did. Tomorrow I have bladder surgery for 6 tumors and am a bit apprehensive of the big C...will find out April 26th. Jack continues to farm but we got away for a month this February, drove from here to Alabama, then on to Myrtle Beach and returned home at the end of the month. Love you both and looking forward to hearing about your new adventures.
Blessings, Suzanne and Jack
Dear Mike How lovely and poetic. Thanks for keeping is in your sights, for sharing your years of hard earned wisdom, and for your enduring friendship. Love CFG
Ahhhh Hey guys...don't know whether I like the words or the pix best! Sounds like a nice place to pause. You'll cross the big stretch of big water when you're ready. In the meantime, glad you're having fun. I'm going crazy marking papers and making jewellery and dreaming of escape! Until....
Great Photos There are signs of spring here... and a grand evening to see the full larger moon two days ago. We are now more wet than white and this old farmer starts to get the fever. Your last photo has considerable draw too... I too would be poised to leave.
My favourite time at anchor is just at morning civil twilight with a little haze and the smell of salt water and breakfast being prepared in the galley. At sea it was chasing the stars through the clouds to get a good fix and again the smell of breakfast preparation. Your first photo caused me to remember breakfast.
Cheers, M&M
Memories It is a sad event when a vessel I have sailed in and known intimately is towed away to the Breakers. It is better that she form a new reef as many of our destroyers have over the years. All vessels have a spirit and are called "She" for a very good reason. In our senior years we sailors stand around in groups enjoying our beer and fondly remember these "Old Girls" and where they took us. This has been so since we first faithfully set out on the "Briney" to explore the unknown and trust that "She" would take us safely there and back.
The most important object that is kept is the ships bell; in storage or to be eventually used on a new ship of the same name.
Cheers, M&M
Lucy Like the Wind Interesting, wonderful read. I didn't know you were such a great writer.
Hope you, Frank and Ginger are doing well and enjoying your voyage.

Lake worth and behone Hey guys,
Where are you thinking of hopping to? We enjoyed West End but there is not really an anchorage there, so if weather turns dodgy you will be paying a marina. Still it's a relatively short crossing. Let us know when you get to the islands, love to see your thoughts and impressions about the spots you choose to go to.

P.S. heard you had a visit with Bob and Connie a while back.
Funny Weather we sure have seen some interesting and different weather patterns this year; and you know I like watching the weather. A few weeks ago CNN reported that every state, with the exception of Florida, had snow. That included Hawaii where there was snow in the volcano on the "Big Island". SW Ontario is expecting record-breaking high temperatures over the next few days making life exciting along the rivers. Fiends tell us that the daffodils are about three inches high in Victoria; that is par for the course.
Fair Winds to you,
M&M
Just cruising eh? I've been looking at blogs to see how others are spending the winter. Cold here and lots of snow this week,
so thinking of you in warmer climes and wishing we were there too. Did you meet Three Penny Opera? They were in Vero Beach too. Now in the Bahamas.
Take care, enjoy , Shirley
With a crew of 3, Frank, Chris and Ginger Bear, MELODEON left Fraser Park Marina in Trenton, Ontario, Canada in 2009. Like many aquatic snowbirds heading south, MELODEON voyaged through the Erie Canal, the Hudson River, the Atlantic ocean and the Intercoastal Waterway until reaching sunnier shores in Florida and the Bahamas . 2011-12 is MELODEON's third cruising season, with the last two trips spent lingering in the sparkling waters and peaceful havens of Grand Bahama Island.... full info
