Hi Lin For sure, we'll get together. Really miss our group get-togethers. Where are we?Bahamas, yes...Barbados no. Quite the rumor though! We'll see you soon. CFG
WOW Your finally living the dream life! I am so happy for all 3 of you. Just checkin in also to see if your coming to Ontario this summer? Maurina and I got together with Marlene and Linda and hope to get together again sometime in June - if your here we want you to come.
I went to an event at Albert College and I was telling Marlene I got an email that you had made it to Barbados - someone (didn't get the name) tapped me on the shoulder and asked if it was you guys - she was worried about you and relieved your in a safe place. Small world, I am so happy your meeting new friends and moving forward with this dream. Take Care Lin
Virtual Pot Luck You 2 look fantastic, the sunny south agrees with you both.
Enjoy, we are finally putting the boat in the water this weekend. It's been cold in Canada. Miss ya's ENJOY!!
Thanks for the pics. Hi, Chris and Frank.
When we look out of our window we see 4 daffodils and 3 red tulips. The rest of the patch looks brown and in need of attention. So thank you for the Sunday morning beauty spots on the computer. You are looking well. Don't forget to come by when you return to the not so frozen north.
Keep well and happy.
Ursula and Herb.
I am in awe of your actually there! Your blogs are a wonderful way of staying in touch and seeing you success!
I am in Conn working on the probate court issue.
Love, Jim
Photos and Good Company Great photos! Keep them coming. You look and sound like this voyage has been great for all of you. Very wet here with lots of water on the land, not in Winnipeg though thankfully. The farmers will be late planting if and when they can get the seeds in. Marion is coming for a visit later this month and I am going to drive her and Mom out to the country south of Brandon to see my Mom's sister Mary (100 years young) and her husband. Hopefully the fields will be dry by then. Take care.
Delightful Your photos are outstanding and I would like to be out standing in them! We are wet and cool to cold. Been a poor April with water everywhere and farmers not able to get going. Arrived back from Windsor a few hours ago. My sister and I went to Duffy's for a fish and chips dinner last evening and drove on down past where your mother used to be. There are acres and acres of solar farms all around Amherstburg; also some windmills. we came back through LaSalle.
Say high to 'Super Puppy' too. M&M
Linda ~ Pretty sure this is why we travel!! Crossing water and crossing paths.. all looking for kindred spirits and safe harbours. Always looking forward without getting cross. LOL! thanks for your wonderful presence. Love CFG
Great Friends in Port Lucaya Signing your guestbook as I had promised! That vacation in the Bahamas with all the new friends I made was the best ever. We will always be friends. Singing and eating freshly caught grilled fish and drinking pina colatas on your beautiful boat was wonderful. We will do it again someday.....
Love, Linda:))
Dolphins and the pink house Hi Jenny: Glad you liked the blog. As cruisers, the ICW is like a movie and we forget the real people live there. Thanks for the reality check. About the pink house... OMG! I hope those are just rumours because it was Frank's fav. at that moment. LOL
About the dolphins...there seems to be an huge difference in dolphin populations, although we have not studied it at all. We miss them here in the Bahamas. The most we have seen were in the nooks and crannies of the Carolinas.
Enjoyed I enjoyed reading your blog post, I ran across it while researching dolphins in the ICW. I found it interesting to see the pink house is you favorite, it is at the end of the street our vacation home is on in Snead's Ferry. I have heard rumor of many wild parties, porn shoots and even a body found in the swimming pool of the pink house!
les penus Michelins? That is REALLY funny. Thanks Jude. I will never eat conch again with a straight face. It was great, pretty harmless, but it didn't taste like chicken. It is called the Bahamian viagra. xox C
Wow! so was the salad tasty? I remember being in Martinique at a restaurant and asking the maitre d'hotel what conch tasted like. we were speaking french and with a group of american tourist so he bent over and quitly said and I quote:" vous connaisser les pneus Michelins ?" Needless to say we did not order them. hope your experience was better. Hugs Jude
so good to hear from you. the video shows lovely sunny weather and calm seas. Perfect!!!!! Hope you are having the time of your life you merry adventurers. must admit to being very happy for you but a little envious too. cold wet and dreary here in Perth ontario but the snow drops are up in my garden and the snow is almost all gone/. no more shoveling says she hopefully. Saw a great and funny show with wendell Ferguson on the weekend with jerry. he was roll on the floor funny. Haven't laughed so hard in ages. Big warm hugs to you both. love jude
Deep Water When you said 2000ft deep that turned me off of sailing. Water that deep doesn't even have fish swimming at the suface! Those waves even look menacing.
love choch-ers all We really enjoyed West End, it is where we made our entry to the Bahama's. the juxtaposition of the luxury resort with the fishing village was interesting. when we moved on to Lucaya, we were treated to a non tourist tour of the island. We had a ball. the liquor stores are interesting, in fact most village stores are interesting. often have to find the local baker if you dont want to bake your own bread.
have fun and keep those posts coming.
Yes! Find out who owns that "studio"! The thought of sun all year fills me with longing (heavy rain -- radio says freezing -- here this morning). Do they rent? I'm serious. Beginning to consider selling the farm in a couple of years. In the meantime, I need to try out a couple of locations (e.g. winter elsewhere; summer here somewhere). In the Bahamas my kids would visit and maybe friends too and you and I could enjoy time together on land and water! The pix always draw me in...but the video was repulsive! Keep enjoying. And Chris, the tone of your writing is always fun and engaging, but now you sound relaxed. K.
Giant snail I could not eat that poor Conch..........It reminds me of a giant snail I saw in a horror movie. The locals should find a use for all those emty shells. Maybe sell them to the Hermit crabs :-)
With a crew of 3, Frank, Chris and Ginger Bear, MELODEON left Fraser Park Marina in Trenton, Ontario, Canada in 2009. Like many aquatic snowbirds heading south, MELODEON voyaged through the Erie Canal, the Hudson River, the Atlantic ocean and the Intercoastal Waterway until reaching sunnier shores in Florida and the Bahamas . 2011-12 is MELODEON's third cruising season, with the last two trips spent lingering in the sparkling waters and peaceful havens of Grand Bahama Island.... full info
