Danielle Jackson & the Musings of the Mad Traveler...
How about opening with a few quotes that reflect some of what my traveling/life attitude/musing is all about? Such as:
"The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you're still a rat."-Lily Tomlin
"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans."-John Lennon
"The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each others life. Rarely do members of one family grow up under the same roof."-Richard Bach
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."-Mark Twain
I am a traveler (duh, right?). I am from Boston Massachusetts (the wonderful & beautiful East Coast of the United States)! I am one of 7 children (the oldest girl in a family of four boys and 3 girls- 2 older brothers, 2 younger brothers and two younger sisters).
I have the most amazing parents, siblings, nieces, nephews & the best, most incredible, awe inspiring friends that anyone could ask for.
I have been backpacking through Ireland, France, Italy & Greece, traveled to Costa Rica, the Caribbean, Mexico, driven across the United States from coast to coast (with a close friend in a Ford Focus) and so have seen much of the U.S as well.... even if in slightly cramped accommodations... ;D & now I'm living in Madrid, Spain. I am most certainly one very lucky and very blessed girl.
I moved here without ever having visited and without knowing how to speak the language.
This journey, like all before and after in my life, is about discovery; about following the path less traveled.
It begins by being very lost and involves growing leaps and bounds on my way to the finish where I am once again, brilliantly, found.
Happiness IS the road.
(OH. And my blog name: Lulu the Cupcake Loving Guru. This comes from my love of Lulu's cupcakes, the most amazing cupcake place that has ever existed and is tucked into Boston's North End (I would swear they put crack in the frosting these cupcakes are so addictive). If you have never tried one you MUST add consumption of one of these cupcakes to your bucket list. You will not regret it. And the Guru part? That was a nickname from my friends who bestow far more credit for wisdom upon my head then I often feel is deserved. But that is just one more of the reasons that I love them so much!)
