Heading to South east Asia for 3 months. Should be pretty sweet!

Ok i am so many weeks behind this now that there really isn't much point in me writing it all out. All i can say is that i had an amazing time and did so many stupid/random/idiotic/ill-advised/foolish/not thought through things that i have the cuts, bruises and "eeeech" moments. I will give a round up when i get a chance to have a good hour and a bit to sit down and just write but i am off to go see some Tigers now and they appeal to me more than hurting my backsitting on the stupidly small chairs they have over here.....so... Much love to you all and i hope this gave you a brief...very brief insight to what i have been doing... Lorcan XX... read more

Cambodia Siem Reap was the first stop after another enjoyably long journey and border crossing. Everyone on the group was slowly getting everyone's names right after the long journey (Lorcan = Logan, llachlan, Larry and an assortment of other names apparently). Hotel in Siem Reap was pretty sweet, as all the hotels with the tour have turned out to be, i was expecting a lot less to be honest. We were offered the opportunity to see Angkor Wat at Sunrise, but with it being a 1 in 20 chance of actually seeing this we decided we'd rather have the slight lie in the next morning. this meant we could go on a proper "group bonding" experience at the "Angkor What?! Bar" (oh the wit) after letting Dr. Fish work his magic on our toes. Standard ... read more

....Sweated from my shoulders..... I have now and it is beyond rank. Eurgh. I thought i might as well do a little update now as i'm back in Bangkok and heading off to Cambodia tomorrow. Bangkok is still as stupidly busy as ever with the Thai Red Shirt Protestors still about and more and more tourists arriving by the day. Guess i should put in a little bit more about the final times on Koh Tao. When i last wrote i had just been to the Lady Boy show, i may or may not have gone again, i'll let you decide on that one (they had different songs this time...) All the rest of the time was spent doing more water testing. This did have a negative effect on my willingness to go into the ... read more

"You want Taxi Boat?" "no." "YOU WANT TAXI BOAT?!" "I said...no." H'ok, when i was walking to the internet cafe i had a little structure all set up in my head, but the radio is now on and Thailand's version of mellow magic has put me in a far to relaxed mood to think straight. Thai people evidently love Ronan Keating's soothing tones) I might as well start off where i left off before. The afternoon after my free morning was spent exploring a few more areas on the island. This was started at Sai Ree where the Festial was the night before. Myself, with Nikki and Danielle helped take down the stuff from the "Save Koh Tao" section. If you don't know how many little biting ants you can fit in a piece of bamboo ... read more

Wake up in the morning feeling like Winehouse OK, so Paddys Day in Bangkok was pretty sweet, albeit a bit odd, but still pretty good! Standard combination of stupid games only one person really understands, but everyone says they do purely to continue drinking than stand round and try and work out the rules....But ya...Spent most of it with the Millfield fellas and Rose and Nancy. Looking back on it may have been a slight error as the next morning i moved about 3 feet before climbing back into bed until 3pm when i finally summoned the courage to stop the room from spinning and went to go stand in the most amazing shower since showers began. I did plan on spending the day at the markets again and going over to the Temple of Dawn, ... read more

Plane Journeys Make Me Weep OK well, to be fair my first flight from Heathrow to Abu Dabi was actually pretty sweet! I had 3 seats to myself and Twilight was on the little TV Screen and you could have as much free Vodka and Orange/Pineapple as you wanted(No Homo x2). It was only when i was stood in the middle of Abu Dabi Airport trying to find Gate 28 that i started to get a little bit "moaney". Luckily a guy came up to me saying "Bangkok!?" and i nodded over enthusiastically and we both shrugged out shoulders...good going so far. Myself and Peewee then decided to look around for other people who might know. This is when we met Spinks, who also didn't exactly know. Eventually though, blind walking through duty free and guessing ... read more

So here we go! Basically when i'm away i'd like to keep a blog/diary, whatever you wanna call it, just to see how well i can do it and keep people interested! Or just make people who are working outrageously jealous.... Having finished work last friday today was my first proper day to sit down and have a look at what i've got. After about 4 minutes it became pretty clear that it was not enough.....and in trying to be "ahead of the game" i managed to snap off 3 out of 4 of the toggles on my sleeping bag that make it smaller...so now it doesn't fit in my pack. Next 3 months look promising then :) At the moment there really isn't much to write apart from that i'm not getting enough injections and ... read more
