This morning, we decided to tour the Edinburgh Castle. I couldn’t believe how big it was once we got inside. They reckon it is about 6 acres in size inside the boundaries. It wasn’t a castle, it was a city. The location was perfect, being accessible from one side only. It had only ever been captured on two occasions, but attempted many more times. We went through the war museum inside, the prisons, and through the room showing the crown jewels, scepter, and the Stone of Destiny. Unfortunately, we couldn’t photograph any of these. They even had a cemetery there for the soldiers dogs! It was so interesting, and we could have spent so much longer there, but we also had the tour to Rosslyn Chapel as well to do.
