England
No matter how many times we go to England it offers a history lesson.

Love your blogs about London!
Hi Karen, London is my favorite last foreign city I visited, and I love everything about it from the markets to Westminster! Can't wait to see you when you get back. Cheers! Elizabeth

Thank you
Thank you for your kind words. Most of my travel in the last few years has been in Asia, so this was a definite change of pace for me.

'Magical food...'
'...Wonderful food, Marvelous food, Beautiful food, Food, Glorious food glorious fooooooood!' Of course, we Brits all aspire to buying our food from the likes of Harrods or Fortnum & Mason - but, thankfully, admiring the opulent displays is free of charge. Enjoy your chocolate bar. At that price, you should frame it, not eat it!

Magical Food
Well, I might save the wrapper, but to not eat the chocolate would be sacrilege. (Still wonder what chocolate made with camel's milk would taste like.)

You got my attention at food glorious food
My first trip across the pond was 1998. Dave and I wandered into Harrods not realize how expensive things would be. I felt like I was back on Rodeo Drive. I looked at a chenille bathroom that was $1200. My eyes popped out. I thought I had read it wrong. I found a cotton T-shirt for $700. I've been told by people that the food department is amazing. I'll have to catch that next time we are in town.

Jaw-dropping prices
Yup, Harrods is not for people who check prices. But at least in the Food Halls you can find a little nibble that won't break the bank.

Wow!
Those dates look as good as I'm sure they taste! I would definitely Visit Harrodsburg should I find myself in golly ol'.

Dates
Harrods food halls were definitely drool-worthy. Most department stores, even Marks and Spencer, which is a middle-class store and far more reasonably priced.

Glad you found the tunnel!
I told you The Painted Hall was impressive (as well as free!) - and you have some great photos of that fabulous ceiling. You certainly seem to have enjoyed your day at Greenwich. Where to next?
13th June 2016

The tunnel
I always like to find things that other people may have overlooked, though considering this is now part of a university, I have a feeling that there are a whole bunch of students who use the tunnel and the undercrofts pretty regularly. Greenwich was definitely a highlight of my trip so far.

Follow in your footsteps
You are doing a lot of interesting things that we have not done yet. We may need another trip to England. I would love to go to Greenwich. Thanks for planting the seed.

Greenwich
If you like history and things maritime, Greenwich is definitely worth a trip. And taking the ferry is a fun way to get there.

Art work
I love it when the food takes on an art form of its own. Beautiful.

Hate those late planes
I assume the summer storms were the cause of your flight delays. Enjoy London and all the amazing things it has to offer. One of our favorite cities.
12th June 2016

Late planes
The story we were given is that the day before there had been a power outage in New York, which caused that particular aircraft to be late. Now I was flying out of San Diego at 8:30 at night on the following day, so that seems to be a bit of a stetch

Cool Dragon!
I love dragons and the photo of the dragon on the building is sooooo cool!

I nearly bumped into you!
Just a day or two ago, my wife and I had afternoon tea at Gordon Ramsay's 'York & Albany' pub-cum-restaurant, only a five-minute walk from Camden Town! The markets you mention are all familiar to us (although we live 25 miles north of London) but, alas, they are now also well-known to tourists - great for sightseeing but not so great for buying anything any more!

So close....
I wish I had known. I would have loved to meet a fellow blogger.

Welcome to Britain
Enjoy your stay. I look forward to reading all about it.

At first I thought these were not real, they are so pretty. I thought they looked like flowers, too.
