hi there? it depends on which state you are heading to. but i bet penang island right? how do i know? mat salleh (foreigner always love penang) - the beaches of course! well, what you must not miss i try nasi kandar or nasi beriani (beriani rice is cook with chicken or lamb inside) from a muslim indian (which we all call -mamak) then try asking for a fruit farm - penang is well known for nutmeg.. (i'll write about culture in penang soon).. get some nice kaftan as sourvenir... and also - try LAKSA PENANG - a local rice noodle in a fish kuah.. www.durianfolk.blogspot.com

I'm an American in Asia right now and I feel your pain. I've sustained several assinine lectures and I think its rampant- I met a 25 year old American woman who was informed by a French tourist that the booming prostitution industry in Bangkok was "her fault". I usually just laugh and shake my head in disbelief but I think you handled the situation very well.

Kev, You sound quite different than while I was reading about your travels in Vietnam. Sounds like you're not having the best time in Australia. Its a dream to be there but you are just not feeling the dream part. I hope things get better for you although I honestly don't feel too badly... Oh poor Kevin not having a fun time while traveling the world... I know it sounds crazy... But I know that part of you wishes to be feeling like you did in vietnam while you are in Australia. All in all I know you'll make the absolute best of it. Oh I also wanted to add that the same feeling you had while getting the hot dog... I get very often when I tell people that I am Jewish. No matter how you slice it and no matter where you are there will be people who reach instant judgement based on some form of prejudice. Its just part of the worl we are in. Shit, I'm sure we do it to a degree ourselves without noticeing sometimes too. Hopefully we don't offend someone too badly in the process. Hey man.. I really enjoy reading your adventures and it does'nt surprise me that I'am reading your adventures. Thanks to Dad for the step up to STOP DRINKING so you can remember more plus you can always get drunk you can't always travel the world @#$%er!!! Guess who??? Oh and by the way you will be home before you know it just have fun be safe and know that everyone will be here when you return ( this could be good or bad)

Kevin, I think you were drunk or "buzzed" when you wrote that BLOG? Anyhow, sounds like a blast, and memories you will remember for a liftime! Reynolds was here for 3 days, so I know wht you are talking about wiht the "red bull". I was drinking too much every night (and day) since Thursday of last week?
