Have a great trip
I am a fellow Coloradan who loves to travel and has lived for years in Southeast Asia. I look forward to your comparisons between your previous trip of 6 months at $3-7/night and this trip at 2 weeks at $30-70/night. I haven't backpacked in decades; being more the three weeks at $50/night sort of traveler, so I wonder if I am missing out on something. I look forward to you detailed blogs. I see you are repeating some of your previous destinations on this trip. You have cut down due to lack of time, but why are you repeating some that I would find repetitive; i.e; why go to Sihanoukville which is much worse than the Thai beaches you are going to; which are great? Siem Reap should be enough of Cambodia

Hey Kevin, We have not but spoken on the phone while you were in Malaysia. What a great surprise to read this and it has reminded me time flies without much hestitation. I can relate much to what you shared, minus the family part, but feeling the content to be at where you are, the urge of traveling has somehow simmer down. Now, i am back in Malaysia after three years away from, got myself a full time job, moved into an apartment, got a car, reconnect with my friends and started to feel it is ok to be here:) Well, I am happy to hear that life is good and yet challenging to you in a different way. YOur wife looks beautiful on photos as well as your daughter. Enjoy Thailand!!

Great... but just one thought.
As a diabled combat Vietnam I was impressed with the information you have gathered and was so kind to present online, Thank you. I was with the 101st Airborne Div that operated often around the A Shau Vally, Laos and near the DMZ. I quote you.. "...we never lost a battle in Vietnam"... That is a nice thought but I'm sorry, its wrong. There were a number of battles lost.... I will name but one... Please research "Firebase Ripcord". Again I do thank you for your great insight, pictures and all the information you have provided. You are a real patriot. Peace to you and yours... Jack

Great blogs Kevin. Glad you had a good trip. Hopefully you'll be able to now deal with things with a clear head. Good luck with it all. Give us a ring if you want to come up and swim, want us to come down for a bbq, or just hit Elitch.

Strange America
Oh yeah, the house for sale on Michael Jackson's block in Gary, IN for $500 down and $250 a month.

Strange America
Probably the whole Milshire Hotel experience...the people, the smell...just the whole experience of being in a true crackden/brothel/roach motel. I have been in some bad places before, but that was probably the worst. Also, a bra repair company that had at least 10 giant billboards across Kentucky...how does a bra repair company have the money for that many billboards? Oh, and the pregnant woman chain smoking cigs was pretty interesting/sickening.

Strange America?
What's the most shocking thing you saw/experienced?

Nice reflections on our country... and glad you could get away from it all for a few days. Thanks for the shout out on your past two posts!

Your writing always makes me smile. You definitely have a gift because normally I wouldn't bother reading all the great things someone else is doing while I'm stuck at work, but at least your make it interesting and I always am smiling at the end of it... miss you and drive home safe!
