Thanks and Bon Voyage. Thanks for thinking of us and including us in your blog. We will enjoy going around the world with you in proxy. We know you will have a great trip. It is in your nature and attitude. Wish we could be with you. We will be in St. Pete for around 2 weeks for Christmas. It would be great to see Dr. Tinkle or at least call him. If you could send some info, it would be great. Hugs, Norm & Linda
Thank you. Hi: Susan & Kevin:
Nice to get your Travel Blog covering your summer activities with visits to friends and relatives across the country.
We both are doing well and hope to see you on the last 3 segments of the World Cruise from Bangkok to Southhampton.
Of course we look forward to the blogs of the early segments of the World Cruise to get us tuned in to the cruising life again.
Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year.
Joachim & Doris.
Missing you Thanks for keeping us on your blog list. It's good to know where you are and what you're up to since we haven't seen each other for months. We thought you might be here for the Club Christmas Party, but evidently not as you are preparing for the eleventh float around the world. We send you our best wishes for a safe and fun trip and we'll raise a glass to that on Sunday at the party. See you next summer, maybe? MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Enjoyed We are busy selling our house here in Hawaii. We have bought a new place in San Clemente and will be selling Dana Point when we can prove 2/5 year residency in CA for the tax break. Busy busy we are anxious to be in one house.
Happy holidays we look forward to your blogs
Aloha Brooks and John
It sounds like you had a relaxing and enjoyable summer! I would love to take a cross-country, or even a statewide trip with my wife for a few weeks. I'm an accountant so my schedule is pretty tight most months, but I want to make time to do this. Spending time together is important, as is visiting family and friends along the way. What an adventure!
Where is Capt. Dag today? I have sailed on two world trips with Capt. Dag plus many segments--He is everything your blog states. A wonderful person and Captain. When he left the Voyager in Cape Town this past April, with rumors of his retirement, I wondered if he had found another ship. Certainly many of his friends will follow him, but first where is he?
Where is Dag? We have heard that Dag is no longer with Regent. Do you know if this is true? We have sailed previously with him and had hoped he would be on 2011 World Cruise.
Namibia I really enjoyed your namibia blog-we too had a wonderful evening under the stars, on the discovery cruise-you brought back so many great memories-I hope you are enjoying Captain Gianni and Marianna, and so good to hear of Tinkle-nothing seems to get him down---Love to you both, betty.
South Africa I have had a little dream in mind for a while, that I would live in South Africa one day, and just last week, Google's country manager resigned, and my little dream piped up again. But ... I then read your blog reference to the crime and read more online afterward. It's not encouraging at all.
I send thoughts of good health to Dr. Tinkle.
Dear Susan and Kevin,
As always, it has been a joy to follow your travels and I hope you keep on doing it. alas, we were to leave on the QM II this coming Thursday (traitors) for Southampton and returning on same in ten days but five weeks ago Joe broke a bone in his foot and the Doctor said it hadn't healed enough to go on the trip. Sohere we sit with a vacant month.
About three weeks ago we had Paul Reynolds here for dinner and at the last minute tried to get Barbara and Burton Udell down for dessert. No Such luck, they were out. Paul was leaving on the Navigator for the next three months.
Hope all is well with you both and happy sailing
Tony and Joe
Hello from the Navigator Hi Kevin and Susan, A quick note to let you guys know how much I enjoy receiving your travel chronicles. I am on the Navigator sailing back to FTL after a brief Caribbean cruise. Ron stayed home still trying to sell our house so I invited an old friend of mine from Colorado who had never cruised before. She is very impressed with the ship and the service. Your grand cruise sounds alot more fun--will have to do that someday! Thanks for including me in your e-mails.

Dr. Tink I was so sorry to hear about Dr. Tink having to cut his world cruise short in Cape Town. He is an inspiration to us all. Sorry I didn't meet him if he was on the Panama Cruise in January 09 for the start of the world cruise. Everyone look so great in the pictures. Love Bruce's African shirt. Where's yours Kevin?
take care

Fabulous blogs Hi Guys, I just love your blogs -great reading. Sailed with Union Castle Line as Staff captain 45 years ago .SA was my second home. Once again you are having the time of your life ,and you look fit so plenty of paddle tennis I guess .Did the last hosting voyage on the Mariner and got caught up in the dust .
It must have been a wrench for Dag to leave the cruise . Please give Jamie and Dana my very best wishes .It is kind of sad not to be a 'half crew member 'anymore. Enjoy the rest of the trip ,Regards Barry O.
Mauratius (sp?) Hi Kevin and Susan,
Loved the Mauritius blog. Sounds like you are having one of your best voyages!! The Mauritius stop reminded me of one of our long flights playing as a pro. We had finished our tour in South Africa, and were headed for Sydney, Australia. We had to fly on Qantas from Johannesburg, SA. The route would take us with stops at Mauritius, and Cocos Island. It was a Super Constellation 4 props. I couldn't believe both stops. Remind me to tell you the whole story when we have a great dinner upon your return home!! Keep the blogs coming!! Cheers, Bear and Michele
Connections I read this, your Shanghai blog, and then your Hong Kong blog on my phone, the day they each came across, and these two blogs paralleled with small degrees of separation:
1) Shanghai: I was video conferencing with our Shanghai office the day you posted your blog. Separately, one of my brothers, who is an engineer with the federal government, is readying to open nuclear power plants here in the U.S., and is right now in Shanghai, working with the Chinese government to learn about their 2 nuclear power plants.
2) Hong Kong: Jack and I were having dinner with a good friend of mine, who was back in the Bay Area for a brief visit after a year Hong Kong, when you posted your HK blog.
xoxo,
steph
Tell everyone hello! Hi there!
It sounds like you are enjoying another wonderful world cruise. Send our love to all. In 2 weeks we will be celebrating our 5th anniversary of our beautiful wedding on that ship! Can't believe it's already been 5 years - time flies when you are having fun. No kids yet, but we're working on it. In the meantime on for Valentine's Day this year we got a dog! A precious 2 yr old Shih Tzu named Harley. We miss you! Come home soon.
Amy and Greg
Thanks Wonderful - except the lizard. Thanks so much for the gifts they are beautiful. I wore the scarf last week to school and read one of your blogs to the kids. Thanks also for the phone call. My phone didn't even ring. We had a great time - all of the kids and their significant others were here.
Thanks again,
Teresa
Happy Birthday, Dr. Tinkle Doctor Tinkle, I have read all of Susan's travel blogs and always enjoy following the exciting travel destinations and admiring the people who make those cruises. You have been my favorite because you make the most out of every day and it seems from here that you are the best medicine for what ails most of us. You seem to spread smiles, laughter, joy, and loving life. I wish you the best of birthdays and wonderful days ahead.
100th birthday What fabulous pictures of Dr Tink's 100th. I hope I can live to be that ripe old age and have as much fun as he did. Thanks for sharing pictures.
Love Pat
What a wonderful report to read just before we head to the Mariner's Observation Lounge for cocktails overlooking Rio! Thank you for sharing the experience. Like many others, we want to grow up to be Dr. Tinkle
Fabulous Event Made many cruises with Lloyd and always enjoyed spending time with him aboard and on shore. Remember the wonderful parties that he and Lillian gave together on the days of the "Sun". Also, remember his calls when he visited on the west coast (of FL)
Regret that I cannot travel anymore, but love being in touch with my "cruising friends". Wish I could have been on the Voyageur for the wonderful party honoring Lloyd. My thoughts were with him. His outfit didn't dissappoint me!
Love, Lois
