That's the life! Well done. Keep living on the edge but don't go too near the edge !! Meaning... take care and don't overdo the biking !Have fun and love to you all. Fabulous start to summer in NZ if you decide to change direction ! xx
Hey guys. Nice blog. I have lots of reading and pix to catch up on! Nice meeting you two here in Sedona. Since you left, we had a few days with no neighbors, then all hell broke loose. A big rig moved in and they were fine, but last night two more rigs pulled in (friends of theirs), and they all had generators, an ATV, a drone, etc, etc. We peaceably departed this morning offering them the additional space and moved up the hill past the “No Motor Vehicles” sign. We’re risking it, because wow is it quiet AND what a view! Anyway, miss you much. Travel safe! -Jeff
We're Here! Its your old neighbors Jeff and Emily!
Two questions to start:
What are Fi's parents' names again?
Where do I start on the blog? The one at the top is most recent, right?
Emily
Hello neighbours! Hi Emily. Hope you and Jeff are still enjoying Sedona! My parents are Ann and Allan Mitchell. For our blog the most recent entries come first so the one called Back on the Road is the latest one. All our other trips are still on the site too. Take care and enjoy....
Fi
Love hearing of your adventures! Keep those blog entries and photos coming! I get to travel vicariously! Enjoy your travels and give Goldie a kiss from me and Patty.
Amazing Trip Loved reading about your trip guys. Sounds incredible, and the hospitality of strangers is just amazing. We're currently working n Antigua, Guatemala and soon heading south again. Just trying to decide if we come back up your way, or ship down to Cartagena! Be great to catch up with you guys soon. Go enjoy some R&R - you've earnt it!
We met in Omarama Hi Ken and Fi, we were camped at the Omarama camping area (with our friends in the big black RV) and you guys arrived at the end of the day. We chatted about our respective bike tours (you guys heading south and me and my wife Gaby heading north). Looks like you had the rougher deal regarding weather! We had some very windy days heading to Hanmer Springs but nothing compared to Southland. My family in Gore say its the worst summer ever...Gaby and i are now in the Hawkes Bay where its hot and sunny :-) and getting ready to carry on around through Gisborne and then the East Cape. Hopefully as you come towards the end of your trip you will experience some sun and it looks like you have been enjoying the riding in the North Island. That was a tough bit of luck regarding the rental car, while at Hanmer Springs we wanted to ride the Rainbow Road but the January 'weather bomb' saw the road closed for a week and with the Awatere Valley road still closed at the time we took the bus to Blenheim (Lewis Pass was only open to 1 lane, Arthurs Pass closed at the time and traffic on the road via Springs Junction was diabolical). OK, enjoy the rest of your trip, perhaps we may see you again some time. Regards Andrew and Gaby www.thebikehike.com
Holy wet trip Batman! Did I mention it rains a lot there? LOL. Looks like you are still having a great experience. Good luck getting back into the States - let me know if you need us to come and picket outside the TSA office!!
Jeez, sounds like some rough weather - u guys r hard-core! Think we've barely seen a drop since we left u. When we did Tongariro it was in waist high snow and our digital camera frozen solid. Still looks like an amazing trip (considering you normally remember the highs more than the lows). Maybe u need to come and dry out in Central America....?
Glad to see you're still traveling I just found the note about your site, I lost it when I met you two. I'm the guy that was on the motorcycle camped next to you at Grand Teton National Park in August 2015. Awesome blog, you two have seen some amazing things. I'm Jealous. If you ever find yourselves in eastern Ohio look me up, there's always room in the spare bedroom for travelers. Safe travels!
Hi Mike,
Yes, we remember you well! That was a cold night in the Tetons; glad you helped us get a camp fire started. Hope all is well for you these days and the moto is running fine.
Cheers,
Ken

Happy Memories Hi guys, loving reading the blog - brings back so many happy memories of our trip around the islands in The Moth (a free car from a fellow traveller). Our own trip is also going well, and the Baja is amazing - expected to be on the mainland weeks ago but reckon we'll still be here for Chrimbo!
wow!! You two are incredible and I want you to know you are in my prayers every night!! Ken, thank you for the updates you have been providing (Catherine and I are amazed at what you've been through!). I can understand you not wanting to quit at this point as you are almost to your destination. I recently had a stroke, but thankfully I have no residual sequlae. I can still drive and continue to have arguements with Patty! I do plan (hopefully) to go back to Uptown for a day or so, but for now I am going to wait until after the holidays. Take care both of you, and I DO hope this reaches you and that the remainder of your journey becomes a bit easier. My love to you both and good wishes for the holidays. We will have a toast to you both at Christmas where we hope to celebrate in Temecula with Rick and his family. Love from all of us here, take care and you will remain in our thoughts and prayers all the time. Anna and Catherine

Argentina ! Just testing the system ! Another great blog, keep up the good work ! Enjoy Argentina, but try not to mention the Falkland Islands on your travels.
Goldiegirl Thanks for the shout out, guys! We will use you as a reference when we apply to be kennel providers on one of those vacation kennel sites. Congrats on having completed phase one of your epic ride. You are amazing and inspiring! Be safe, M
A little about us: Ken grew up in the U.S. (near Boston, MA), while Fi was born in England (Shropshire) and lived there until 2010. We first met each other in Peru, quite by chance: Fi had been backpacking through South America for about 9 months and Ken was on a surfing vacation that went wrong. To make a long story bearably short, we met on a hiking trail near Machu Picchu and things took off from there. Now 14 years later, and after 9.5 years of marriage, we still share the same love of travelling and adventure. (By 'adventure' we mean riding our bikes for months on end or relocating to a n... full info
