Sky High Petrol was about $1.50 in Kalgoorlie but as much as $1.85 along Nullarbor.
Car was working hard against strong headwinds. Fuel economy up to 23L/100km?????
Sky high! Told you those hums would be impressive, didn't I? :)
What is the cost of petrol there these days? We bitched about it in '96 when it was around a $1 a litre - hate to think what it is now though!
When does the schedule put you in Melbourne btw?
Stephen

Wave Rock Hi Stephen
Yes it's a big bit of granite isn't it? Surprised us. We did the full walk around and over! Luckily it was a cool day by their standards - only mid 30's!
Sorry but you'll have to join the waiting list to join us on the trip.
What are you doing outside with pneumonia??
John & Rose
Surfing the rock So - how far back did you walk on Wave Rock? Bit of a surprise isn't it as we had never seen anything advertised/spoken about the size of the rock overall.
Hope you are enjoying yourselves even more - we have floods around our way lately - 122mm of rain Fri/Sat night - I was at Mt Buller with Tim (Mountain bike racing) - they had close to 190 mm!). Drove back home yesterday evening and just as I got to Yarra Glen they closed the bloody road! Literally 5 minutes before I got there - 50 km detour...Not happy Jan! Add a case of pneumonia over the last 2 weeks which My Buller didn't help fix - if you have good weather can I come and stay with you? Please? Pretty please with sugar on it? :)
Stephen
WA Still enjoying reading about all your travels. Love the photo's. Think you're in the best place at the moment weather wise. Keep updating us on your moves! Jean xxx
It's not me it's WA WA has all these Up names....Bummer pity about the pier - considering it is all wood though guess they are worried about it rotting - after all, at (what is it?) over a mile long it would be a bloody long swim back if you couldn't walk it.... Oh well.
Now you can look forward to one of those tree top walks as you come around the south coast of WA - and no jumping off the SW corner of Australia.....
Up Town Hi Stephen
As was the case all through our Europe trip in 08, where all of the icons had scaffolding around them, Busseton Jetty was closed for some reason! Frustrating.
Keep your mind above your waist?????

Tassie Hi Jude
Not sure when, or if we will make Tassie. Will let you know. Our schedule has been disrupted by the lack of camps during the school holidays. The weather across the country is also a major factor.
Love

Chick on a Stick ! Hi John and Rose
Loved hearing how much you enjoyed your stay in the region and at Big Valley. To follow on from your story in Cowaramup of the cow and the vineyard of the lady, they have both been nicknamed. The lady is "Chick On A Stick" and the cow "Roast On A Post" in good old Aussie humour.
On Big Valley if anyone is thinking of visiting I too can highly recommend it. You will find lots more pictures, a video of the site and a review by visiting The Margaret River Guide (margaretrivertguide.com.au) and looking under reviews or caravan parks. Kevin, Shelly and Kylie are great hosts and I hear their Christmas roast is lovely. Good luck with the rest of your trip John and Rose, all the best for 2011.
Happy New Year! Hello both, Happy New Year to you as well. We were in bed at 11pm as well, Leanne woke us up at 12.03 to wish us happy new year. It was good to speak to you the other day.
It sounds awful that weather they're having in Queensland, bet you're glad you're away from it.
Love the pictures, especially the story and pictures of the the statues of the cow and woman, lol.
Well take care, love you lots. Speak soon

Everything Down is Up again! (With apologies to Peter Allen)
How cam you feel Down in WA when everything is Up all the time? (Which reminds me - need to renew that prescription for those little blue tablets! :) )
So - did you get to the end of the pier at Busselton?
Stephen

G'day Hi Stephen
Still in Margaret River until who knows when. Probably until the school kids go back and yes, no rush to catch up with the high temps. It's just right here.
Happy New Year! Hi Both, wishing you a "Happ New Year". Hope the travelling's still going well. Still enjoying all the updates and photo's - keep em' coming. Stay safe, Jean xx
Happy New Year (hic!) So - Happy New Year on 1-1-11 - where are you at present? Noticing Perth and the SW has been forecast for very high temperatures over the coming week I guess you are pleased to be there? :)
And partaking of Margaret Rivers finest I trust?

You are so...... Given the location by friends. What a coincidence? No grog or smoking allowed. Suits us fine. Only $4.00/day to store the van and car while we're on the GC.
Noticed the humidity as soon as we touched down.
Will do a blog update when I get back on 8th Dec
