Hi all - Long time no entry! (as the actress said to the bishop)

Well we enjoyed our stay on the Gold Coast. Thanks again to all our friends for making us feel so welcome.

We have just spent another week back in Perth where we managed to catch up with some friends, Nelson and Shirley, before we left. We had originally met them back in 2006 on our NZ trip and had missed them a couple of times over the years when they had passed through the Gold Coast on their travels. We had a lovely afternoon with them. We also made a quick visit to Cottesloe Beach, but it was incredibly windy, so it was a very short stay.

One thing we have noticed since arriving in the south west, is the huge population of poms? It's hard to walk down the street or through the shops, without hearing a strong pommie accent.

Our current location is now Bunbury, some 190km south of Perth. We arrived a couple of days ago and will be leaving tomorrow for Magaret River.

We had a magic day yesterday on a drive out to

a mining town named Collie. It seems to have a very strong association with Cardiff in Wales, obviously due to the mining.

On the way back we stopped at an amazing little place called "Gnomesville". Hundreds of travellers have left gnomes set in different positions with comical messages attached. There would be in excess of 1000 gnomes set amongst the trees along a series of paths. It would probably rate as one of the highlights of our trip!

In case you don't know, Margaret River is famous for it's vineyards and we will be camping smack bang in the middle of them. I doubt we will have any trouble celebrating Xmas and new Year???

Oh well, If you don't hear from us before, we wish you all a very Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.

Love

John & Rose
