Oh, how nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had liked to be there. I did not know anything about this. I am very far away, in Argentina, but my heart is always travelling and I learn a lot from all of you. It has been a good idea to join this site. I also belong to other travel sites (Spanish and English, home and abroad) and it is always a great experience. Thank you for all the work you do. Hugs from Argentina. Graciela.

Fantastic Weekend :)
It was a pleasure to host the event - I hope we all get the chance to meet up again.... 15 years? 20? - or maybe "Bugger it....let's go to Auckland for Easter"?

Awesome photos!
Lots of colour - looks like the sun smiled on Wellington. Love your pic with Gordon Tietjens!

Thanks Rachael, it did rain a bit on the Saturday (finals day) - but that was never going to stop the party!

What a great idea...
everyone dressed in costumes. It certainly adds to a festive ambiance rathen than a drunken hoard.

With NZ captain DJ Forbes

Is there any truth to the suspicion that the cut underneath Forbes' eye resulted from you coercing him to pose for this photograph?

None at all - he didn't take much persuading ;-)

Cool
Our son and son in law played rugby in college in the US. Thanks for the great blogging about the sport. Personally I love the "get ups!"
16th February 2012

Funny you mention that - while I was down there someone was telling me about rugby's increase in popularity in the US. The following round of 7s was actually in Vegas, but NZ got beaten by Samoa in the final :-(

Disappointing photos???!
Jo, those photos are great to our eyes...considering you didn't have a tripod they turned out amazing! It looks like a spectacular display, definitely a bucket list event! We are sure you will more than make up for your quieter year of travelling with your upcoming trip. Where are you going? A belated happy new year!
8th January 2012

Thanks Donna and Neil :-) The upcoming trip will only be about 10 days - I'm heading up to KL for the TB 10th anniversary meetup. Looking forward to meeting more TBers - and exploring a new country!

The Best Place in the World To Experience New Year's Eve
Great photos and videos - they do convey what an amazing spectacle results from six million dollars worth of fireworks! I saw both 1999/2000 and 2000/2001 displays and they were both very memorable evenings.

Congratulations!
A fantastic result for the All Blacks, they were easily the best team of the tournament. The French should also be commended for the way they played, as they (along with the All Blacks of course) gave a game to the tournament that was worthy of a final.
