For the first time... For the first time I wished I was there. Up until now I was gald to read about it but I did not feel the need to be there! But these pictures and the ease and rythm you guys seem to have achieved in terms of traveling around is really very beguiling..Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone here is good.
hazy scenery glad to know it is not just taiwan that gets fogged and smogged. i finally got my lazy ass to check out your blog... and i hope to be catching up with you guys in laos (potentially) in the not so distant future.
all the best --m
I finally caught up on your blog, which is in good time, as yet another visitor is due (this time IN my bed, rather than my floor, fortunately) in Taipei. Good to see you are enjoying yourselves. Keep in mind, I'd like to meet you guys in May somewhere for a week ....
seems like only yesterday that I had to gingerly step around you two sleepy clowns while I made my way to the shower to wash my groggy self and head off to work. It was a blast having you guys here. I've been back to Kenting twice since, hehe, and man am I BRONZE ... hope your travels continue to be incredible, I miss you guys, but the weather in Taiwan is now 很好 (very good - yes I wrote that by myself, hehe).
And if anyone wants an extended and rewarding break from life back in the States... you can find out more about teaching in Taiwan at http://ReachToTeachRecruiting.com
Was great Was great to have you guys in Taiwan... always great to see friends from home. Hope you can make it back again towards the end of your trip. Any other people I know on this blog are welcome to visit Jon and I anytime!
This trip.. This trip just keeps coming on stronger and stronger! You both look great and sound (or should I say read) even better. By the way ( as per the blog before this one) shit never looked more exotic....

This is more like it!!! Finally, a meal I could imagine eating!!! The places look great and the summer weather is something I am personally longing for! It is becoming clearer and clearer to me what a valuable and wonderful experience this is for both of you. Between the sights, sounds and people it is a graduate education in wisdom! Only an elite group of world travelers could compare fish auctions in Southern India and Tokyo! It was great to hear from Jill directly...who knew we had two travel writers in the family?
Love,
UM
Emaciated Roy,
In the picture of you playing scrabble, you look like a contestant on Survivor. Deprived of all luxuries in life, including Food. Are they feeding you over there? You should food thats not gonna go right through you. If you need some money so that you can get a decent meal, please let us know. We have all discussed this and are worried about you.
What a long strange trip it's being!!!! Jewish Bubbi's buried in Indian slums..catching a flick after a Big Mack?? What kind of mushrooms are in your omlettes? It all sounds too sureal but I guess you had to be there..
I am tired just reading this stuff..are you guys getting enough down time, or am I just showing my age?
Family shindig at Jeff and Alex's this weekend to celebrate Dylan and David's birthdays..double D's so to speak!! You will be missed and spoken of..FYI David got into Rutgers last Saturday!!!
New Brunswick here he comes... and not a minute to soon!
Keep this stuff coming...it is stranger (and better) than fiction..

Lets hear it for the street cleaners.... So I am looking at these pictures of elephants, donkeys, cows, and dogs and I am thinking..what a dung problem. They say it was the great scourge of pre-automobile NYC and I am thinking how do they clean it up and if they don't what's up when you cross the streets..so many questions so little time. Oh by the way..it all sounds amazing and the pictures are even better; but best of all is that you are really doing it all and then sharing it..very groovy and octapussy too!
