Yesterday we were up and out of the hotel shortly after 9:00 for a 9:30 appointment at the Imperial Palace and a private viewing of a sealed temple. The subject and purpose of the temple itself was inspired by Changkya Rolpai Dorje (18th century) with some unclear connection to the past and the Mongol Court of the Yuan dynasty. The building may or may not have been pre-existing and merely renovated for the new purpose of functioning as a Tantric temple with four floors decorated with the subjects of the Four Classes of Tantra: Kriya, Charya, Yoga and Anuttarayoga, on each of the ascending floors.
