Yesterday, Saturday, was the most grueling and tiring day for me so far on this trip to China. We spent the day at the home of the private collector hosting our stay in Chengdu. He has hundreds of paintings and sculpture. His staff were very organized and trained in exhibiting the paintings in his home. They would be brought out in bundles and opened ahead of time in a corner of the room by two or three workers and then brought to the medium sized coffee table and spread out for viewing. We moved fairly rapidly through the collection with several individuals writing down whatever I had to say about the pieces such as identification, religious tradition, set affiliation, quality, region, age, uniqueness, etc. The collections Manager from the Sichuan University Museum was also in attendance
