Arrived Chengdu

After waiting in the Dragon Air lounge for awhile my friend appeared and we then went off to the Cathay Pacific Lounge where they offer a better class of noodles - spicy Sichuan noodles in a peanut sauce - my new favourite in the lounge.

The 2 1/2 hour flight to Chengdu was uneventful but catty, a full plane, slightly turbulent at times.

We were met at the airport and transportation was just outside. It is a quick trip to the center of town and the comfortable Sheraton Hotel. It s considered old in this relatively new city - the Sheraton was built about 15 years ago. Tomorrow is already a busy day with meetings in the morning and then picking DP up at the airport in the afternoon and then dinner with representatives of the hosts - the Sichuan University and Provincial Musuem.
