The last few days have been a whirlwind of activity. Meeting people, dinners, saying good-bye to people and more. The Gesar essay has made some significant progress but still not finished. Today I visited with the Lingtsang Gyalpo, the King of Lingtsang Jigme Wangdu, living descendent and heir of Ling Gesar - the famous Tibetan hero of old. I first visited him, that I recall, in 1981 in Manduwalla, India, and I try and visit him each time I return to Chengdu where he now lives - close to his people and the Lingtsang region of Dege. I learned today from the son of the king, the prince, that the crown of the Lingtsang Gyalpo is a black hat with three large eyes and topped with a raven's head image. Very interesting!
