oh yikes! That will be a question for Tom!

Thanks Jane! I enjoyed reading your blog! And here is some trivia for you; in what movie does Robert Redford play the part of a character named Einar?

Another cool adventure! (Pun intended.) You were probably given a website to track auroras as part of your trip package. If not, I'm sending you one - check your email. I watched curtain auroras in BC one summer - very exciting! Hope
fully you'll get to see some good ones. :)

Hello, Jane -- what a marvelous adventure you have planned! I love seeing Iceland when it is used as a filming location for Game of Thrones. I hope you have wonderful weather!

Yes! You are both correct! We got home and in digging around found the blue juicer in the back of a cabinet. Jack, J&J beat you by about 90 minutes. I'm sure they'll share.

Looks like you're not using the juicer thingy that you bought. I guess there was one hidden in the place and you found it when you got back after all?

Your juicer is a different color!

Hi Bev,Maybe the snakes could eat the cicadas and the panther could eat the snake! Something drug off the cantaloupe rind I put out for the birds...
16th April 2016

Panthers are carnivores. If they can catch and kill a snake, they will eat it, but medium-sized mammals are their preferred food.

What a nice idea to bring a treat for the crew! :)

They are always very surprised and it takes just a little effort to give them a lift. I usually tape on a little note that says "Thank you for all that you do."

I remember talking to a parent of one of our students who worked 3 months teaching at a medical school in the Caribbean then spent 3 months in Fort Collins. He described his tension "melting away" as he'd fly back to his home in the Caribb
ean. He planned to locate there permanently once his kids were grown (which is probably by now). I hope the house you are renting is "gringoish" enough to have screens on the windows. No sickness allowed on this trip - from food or critter!

Food poisoning from rice - that's a new one. I'm guessing the rice had something on it. Anyway, glad you, two, made it through.

Janet and John, You win! I have a small bag of Cuba coffee for you, unless you would prefer a cigar? Bev and Wen, I didn't know about the Art Deco architecture in S. Calif. Makes sense though. Also, I saw more Bronco attire than Panther at
tire in South Beach. That did surprise me...
8th February 2016

The "ship" architecture is (was? - haven't been there is a long time) also found along So. Cal beaches, particularly toward San Diego. Having miles of beach walks to stroll or bike is a plus. Generally speaking, were the folks down there
for the Broncos or Panthers?

Nathan Lane - and I didn't Google it!

Mountains, clouds, fog, pouring rain, pounding on doors where they speak only Spanish... Are you sure you are not Juanita Wilder?
29th November 2015

It is hot and rainy in October. The length of the day doesn't vary much. Is that also true of the weather? Is there a dry, or a cool, season?

OK, please check my math. If you put too much rum in a glass, say 4 oz rather than 1 oz, by mistake -- that is too much to drink, right? So you put it in a bigger glass, with lots of ice and coke, and it tastes just fine, right? But, I th
ink you still drank 4 oz of rum, que no? How is the hangover?
