We had the entire day today in Bryce Canyon National Park. We started out with a hike along the rim trail from Bryce Point to Inspiration Point, and then we went down into the canyon via the Queen's Garden trail. Chicago Trip, Day 07, Red Canyon, Bryce Canyon

We stayed the night last night in an Air B&B that was purchased from the Sears mail order catalogue.

Today we set off for Bryce Canyon National Park, driving through Red Canyon on our way on Highway 12 Scenic Drive. We stopped in Red Canyon and did several hikes, which were amazing. What a great day!... read more

It was quite windy and the sand was blowing around.

There were interesting plants, which made interesting patterns in the sand.

We had the entire day in Zion National Park, and we had a great time. We weren't able to finish our last hike to the Emerald Pools because of thunder, lightning, and rain, but the clouds and rain had their own beauty. Another glorious day!... read more

Another spectacular day. We started with a very informative tour of the Hoover Dam, followed by a drive through the Lake Meade National Recreational Area on the way to Valley of Fire State Park. We met birds and lizards and saw rocks do amazing things. What a beautiful world we live in!... read more

We went back to Zabriskie Point, just because it's so interesting.

I went hiking a bit this time. It was fun to strike out into the wasteland for a quarter mile or so.

Going out from the viewpoint let me see some things I hadn't before, like this large wash.
