I feel for you.I remember these feleings so strongly after coming from that ancient and beautiful Burma with its patient people and 200year old ways. Thrust into that ugliness of the Emerald Palace millions of busloads of tourists, then the shopping malls and the padpong. My senses were abused and I felt a great loss. I didn't find it much better, travelling north except around Chaing Mai and then it was the time riding the elephants through the jungle peacefully and in the quiet until we got back to the park where the tourists were making too much noise. Have never really come to terms therefore with Thailand, sadly. Perhaps if I d gone there first I wouldn't have found it so confronting. They say Krabi is nicer.....still you'll have fun...Do sympathise about teeth. Have just started a root canal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Suexxxxxxxx

Well done capturing photo's of wild elephants and a leopard, I think I visited this Park 40 years ago but it looks like the Park has been restocked and animals protected. Keep up the great stories on your travel blog. Cheers N

School address
I am now in India but can try to get the address for you. Do you intend to write to them? The principal is lovely but there is no email, in fact only her office has electricity! Whenever I send money I do it via Western Union through Raju, the father of the two children I support. I trust him implicitly. Let me know what else I can do, I would love you and others to help them.

Coincidence
I too have just returned from a visit to Kathmandu. I know of the existence of a school with this name because of someone I met there who said their child was at that school. I didn't however get any address and spelling right. I would like to help but do not know how to get into contact with the Principal to confirm I have the right place. I wonder if you could give me an address?

poetry
I loved the poem Buffy and I sympathise with your araqchnid problems. I really don’t know whether I ought to Have had that glass of iced rain water Near my bed on Friday night. It was by the light of the radio’s LED That I reached out, and I could see the sillhouette of the glass’s shape. My throat was dry from the heat and dust and I felt that I must releive this horrible cough of which I’d simply had enough. So by the light of the LED I reached out quite sleepily and felt the glass’s cool rounded shape and silently to my lips I take, a sip of icy water. To my complete disbelief I felt against my upper teeth Something soft and furry with unpleasant taste I spat it out in indecent haste. But failure occurred in this event, though yes, it was my firm intent. I gasped and inhaled the body of a wayward moth attracted by the seductive glow of my Philips bedside radio. So in the kitchen at 3 am I am sleepily writing this poem describing then my thoughts on moths flying and swimming ability, and proposing in poetical nocturnal stupidity, “That lepidoptera who by light are attracted, should cease this suicidal habit. Or be at least fitted with miniature life preservers and fly supervised by trained RAAF observers.” It’s true that I cannot verify the identity of this night butterfly, I had little time to count its legs but six I felt. A mistake I could have made, maybe by two, Oh Hell ! Evidence of this drowned night creature has vanished without revealing feature. The ease of my stomach and calmer inside now But consternation if it really was a huntsman spider ! G Cartridge ()

The I
It is maybe not so good to dwell on the quality of your meditation, or the quantity. It is not competitive. What you experience just ...IS. It develops slowly but once you have it, it stays with you and you can slip back "inside" so easily. Meditation is strrange. If you are told not to think of something then it will be part of your thoughts. In time when you are "thoughted out" the realisation that nothing really matters helps you develop true thoughtfulness. Ming spent 10 days in silence in a Vipissana retreat. She said that it was so hard but so valuable. She cried.... personally I think that was severe and mahayana is much more acceptable to westerners. Love and kisses from the Woodside lot xox tell you what though, and it is not flippant...Zen and the art of motorcycle mainetnance makes a lot more sense now that I am THIS age!

Very Impressed, but milk from a castrated male cow?
Dear IndiaBuffy, I am extremely impressed with the pic of the BIG snake! How you managed to take it so clearly whilst running in the opposite direction is beyond me! :) But even more impressive is drinking milk from castrated male cattle - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullock ........ Seriously though - what an adventure!
