Tell me more!
Hi, A friend of mine went back to Candidassa twice to stay in this ashram, in the 80s and I have wanted to stay there and go to Bali ever since. I emailed them about volunteering for a month, and they were very encouraging. SO, I may be there sometime in the next 3 months, April or May. Do you know when the hottest time is to avoid? Or when to go to avoid major insects? Do you need mosquito nets and is there a fan? I know it isn't air conditioned. Sounds wonderful to me too, time for a time out from the US. Nuff said. Would love to hear from you and any more tips, including costs. Thanks Wynette Albany, CA

Hi
I had not seen your grandchildren before in such a good photo. They are gorgeous! Now are you going to write the story of Timothy turtle? Toby looks remarkably healthy too!

Maiden voyage
I can't believe I am doing this. I do wish you everything you wish yourself. I think you are very brave. Not so much for your travel but for your thoughts. No room for negatives. It was great to see you this trip. Hope we weren't too rough on you. Come again and share some time. Love Anniexxxx

Ellora
We wouldn't have stayed in Ellora if we had known the "quality" of the hotel! However time was short and we wanted to be at the caves by 6.30.a.m. It was wonderful, no one else was there so we had the first 5 or 6 caves to ourselves. What a place to meditate. We treated ourselves to a taxi and I think it took about on hour. Enjoy. So many wonderful sights to see in India, I will be back next year.

Amazing...I'm planning a visit soon. One question, though. Why did you stay at Ellora? Aurangabad isn't too far off. From aurangabad, how did you travel? Bus or car? And how much time did it take? If you don't mind my correcting you, its Ajanta and not Ajunta...sorry!

BUS TRIP!
Don't talk to me about bus trips! I have another one coming up tomorrow, an overnighter no less. I may be mad but I'm tough. Regarding the money for the orphanage, it is all held in Australia so don't worry, it is going to the right place and a very worthy cause in deed. Keep in touch. X

Which photo?
Hi Edward, glad you were able to find my blog. Now which photo do you mean, there are hundreds? As all the photos are of children from where I was teaching, I suppose that means that you are at my old school. Wonderful. I taught the older ones, but in the beginning taught all the children, so I guess you could say that at some time I was their teacher. Hope you are having fun and give my love to all the children and staff. They were great!!!

Loving every minute!
Dear Pauline, thank you so much for your kind comments. I am really the lucky one. I am in a position where I can actually do this. Wow! I am meeting wonderful people, perhaps making a few lives a little brighter and getting so much out of it, it is incredible. I would say to anyone who is thinking of doing something like this, DO IT! You get more than you give. By the way, new blog updates soon, just got back from Shimla. What a great place.

I've just spent a lovely 1/2 an hour catching up on all the blogs I haven't read for a while. Thanks so much for giving us some insight into how much difference little things can make. I think inside many of us is a need to do what you are doing but very few of us actually get up and do it. You have a special gift!

Many thanks
It's so lovely that I have touched a perfect stranger. Most of us in the west live very selfish existences. Don't feel bad, maybe one day you will be able to do something for your countrymen. I consider myself lucky to be able to do this and believe me, the kids give me so much more than I give them. I am honoured to be here.
