Dear Angelica and Wolfgang, What a treat to hear from both of you, Gauting and Peru are not exactly nextdoor neighbours, and yet from the blogs it is so obvious that there is a loving link between the two towns, strengthened by your Sammy. We hope that Sammy is recovering as expected. Samba has kennel cough immunisation every time she goes to Richards. It lasts normally for 3 months. She had a big of a cough years ago and I can imagine that you were worried, Wolfgang. It is a terrible sound. I thought of you to-day, Angelica, on a rare day off and time to visit the Museum. I wonder who the Lord of Sipan was/is and what you found there. We do so enjoy your reports, the wry humour and always, of course, the factual information of a scientific geographer's observations. I can't believe how far you have already travelled - the photo in Ecuador with Berta to the South and A to the North is worthy of being made into a poster. Here all is well. The kitchen looks very different already although many more doors are to be fitted. It is a different workplace. Hier ist kanadisches Thanksgiving, es sind jetzt noch 18 Grad oder so, um 20 Uhr abends, es ist herrlich! War sehr mild und schön die letzten 2 Wochen, wir geniessen es. Keine extra Decke hier nötig!!!!! Knutsch von uns allem zwei- und vierbeinig!

Hi, das klingt ja nicht gerade so als müsste man da auch hin. Ich kann mir vorstellen,m dass dein Wäsche nicht trocknet und allmählich einen Modergeruch annimmt...ich hab hier immer noch Möbel, die nach Elfenbeinküste müffeln. Ich bin seit sage und schreibe 2 'wochen krank, schleppe mich in die Schule und hab seit gestern ein steifes Genick....keine ahnung warum, dabie hab ich mich aufs Wochenende gefreut, weil ich im Garten einiges zu erledigen hätte. Hier gibt es ansonsten nicht Erwähnenswertes. Genieß die schönen Momente, hier wird es mit zunehmendem Herannahen des Winters imer langweiliger. Ich hasse den Winter!!!! Ich fahr in Gedanken mit und versuche am wochenende deine CD mit der Fahrt zu öffnen. Bis jetzt ist es mir nicht gelungen. Pfiati und viel Glück weiterhin Gabi

Hi, Angelica, I hope your toes are ok - no nasty conditions! Your ride to P must have been the worst so far, which after 7 weeks is not bad going. I hope the washing will dry out while you are there for a day. It really is an amazingly long journey. You are just reaching the foot of page one of a 2 2/3 page itinerary. Well done for courage and stamina. Here all is ok - Samba is on special anti-arthritis pills and I have just come back from an MRI scan of the right knee which is playing up quite a bit. Helen and Ant are on their way down. The Aga has been re-lit as the weather has turned chilly at night and it is quite damp, as you can well imagine. We have made contact with Tracy who is going to paint the kitchen units mid-October for 10 to 12 days. What fun it will be for all of us. 'What a woman' she said when I told her of your journeying. She sends her regards. Nicky came up to sort out music for the service on the 21st. It is called Noel's party and will have lots of different styles of music. Gail has formulated Nicky's memories through a poem, according to Peter S. They both ask after you quite regularly. Peter S had a horrid fall off a little bridge on going back to a boat he was crewing on to the Scillies. Broken rib and other symptoms, but he is working away valiantly at re-pointing their wall. As you see, lots and lots of news from NF! Just as many hugs for you, take care, and I hope the washing will dry! xxT

Na, dann Ruhe dich mal ,kurz auf den Lorbeeren aus, nun kommt ja wohl der eher wildere Teil, oder???!!!! MC durch die Anden und so, gelle? Und Terra del Fuego ist ja auch nicht ohne, auch wenn dor dann Sommer ist! Immer eine bisschen Gummi zwischen der steten Berta und der Strasse!!!!!!

Motorbikes, tortoises and things
Hi Angelica and Wolfgang, I was so glad to hear that all is well, though some of the blogs have been 'taken off', so we have not had all the reports of the travellers. Cody and Buffalo Bill sounded just right for you who so love Westerns!!!! After the North of Alaska one imagines that you are very much in civilisation again with good internet, etc, and I am sure that you wistfully remember the wilderness that you traversed earlier in your travels. The landscape sounds incredible. Do tell me how I can access the photos, please. I had the ones of Stewart glacier through a link given at the end of the blog, but no more links have appeared. Here all is well. We were in Warwickshire for the funeral of our old friend and D played the organ for the service. We arrived at 11am for the Sunday service. The choir were there, ready to rehearse an anthem by Rutter in Gflat major (6 flats!!) illegibly photocopied off an illegible photocopy. So Sunday was a bit of an ordeal for D trying to fathom out the music. Fortunately Dukes in HiA produced a legible enlargement for the Monday rehearsal before the service, so all went well after all. But it was very sad and poor Anne fainted during the get-together afterwards. She had nursed her husband on and off for 9 years. We have not yet been in touch with Nicky. In NF all is well. The hydrangeas are going rampant, as do all the shrubs, and we (Julie and I) do nothing but prune and prune. The roses are fantastic and the weather summery with a chill in the air at night. Glad to see that Romeo was found safe and sound in his home. Take care quad biking! Your godson is a champion at it!! Lots of love, T.
