Have a great time Your combined description of safe arrival take me back to the Polio Immunisation trip we had to Bangalore in February 2010. The colours, sounds, smells, traffic, sacred cows and the overwhelming welcome from Rotarians and their families. I'm going to enjoy following your blog. Have a great time.

The start of your adventure! Glad to hear you've all arrived safely, and it sounds like the interesting and enlightening experiences have already begun! Looking forward immensely to reading about your activities over the next four weeks.
Good luck Good luck to you all on this trip and I hope you get all that you want out of it...and that your hosts also benefit. A wonderful opportunity.
Packing Di - one suggestion is to make sure you take some clothes that can be washed and dried overnight i.e. easy care stuff. It's also easier to take clothing that can be layered when wearing so that if you need something warm you don't need to take bulky jumpers etc just put more layers on..!!
Have FUN,
Regards

We are taking part in the Rotary D.1190 (Cumbria and Lancashire) Group Study Exchange to India Rotary D.3180 (Karnataka). Although mainly based in Mangalore, we will be travelling throughout Karnataka in South West India. The trip takes place from 2 January 2013 until 2 February 2013. As well as visiting many historical and religious places, we will each spend five days learning about our individual sectors and how they function in India. Throughout the trip we will live with Rotarians and their families, experiencing and enjoying their culture and hospitality.
